WeatherReport 0 Posted August 26, 2006 I'm not feeling too hot about this draft, so I'm just looking for some feedback on how I did. Is it really that bad or just low self-esteem setting in? Scoring: Passing- 1pt/20yds, 3pts/TD, 5pt bonus @ 300yds Rushing/Recieving (combined)- 1pt/10yds, 6pts/TD, 1pt/3receptions, 5pt bonus @ 100yds Roster: 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1K, 1DST First, I made a trade in draft, after my 4.02 pick of Plaxico Buress, I traded it and my 6.02 for the 4.10 and 5.03 picks. I think it was a good deal to make, I just don't feel I got the most worth out of those picks once I actually took them. My draft: 1.11 Rudi Johnson 2.02 Warrick Dunn 3.11 Donald Driver 4.10 Kevan Barlow 5.03 Darrell Jackson 5.11 Alge Crumpler 7.11 Eddie Kennison 8.02 Chris Brown 9.11 Kurt Warner 10.02 Brandon Lloyd 11.11 Brandon Stokley 12.02 Phillip Rivers 13.11 Jaguars 14.02 Eric Parker 15.11 Jeff Reed 16.02 Jon Kitna
adam smitty 0 Posted August 26, 2006 I think you got Dunn too high and Barlow way too high. The receivers are pretty good and youl be fine with Crumpler, but I deffinitely think you could have ended up better by not taking Barlow til WAY later. Warner is a pretty solid QB. This team is ok, but i dont see it winning any money... thats my 2 cents.
PRuggs 0 Posted August 26, 2006 I think your team is OK, bu tlike you said not great. I think the trade was a bad move. I would rather have Plaxico than Jackson with his current knee situation. There are always guys in the 4-6 rounds who fall farther than they should and trading up in those rounds does not have much value. I think the problem is you have no top tier guys an any position... all are good, but on paper no top 5 guys at any position Please see mine http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=224787
shake_a_leg 0 Posted August 27, 2006 I agree with the others that you might have reached a little on Dunn and Barlow. The problem is, if you would have waited...you probably wouldn't have gotten them. I've had some pretty rotten drafts that after I sat back and compared my roster to others in the league didn't look all that bad either. If you feel comfortable in your matchups, that's all that really matters. The most important thing to do the next few weeks is keep your eyes peeled on the waiver wires and make a few moves in the season and really research your trades before you accept them. On your draft day trade, I don't think you moved up near enough in comparison to what you gave up. I'm no algebra teacher, but moving down 8 and up 5 is still behind in the count. I really appreciate the analysis and advice. In the deal though, I dropped 8, but jumped 11.
uwis1 0 Posted August 27, 2006 My draft: 1.11 Rudi Johnson 2.02 Warrick Dunn 3.11 Donald Driver 4.10 Kevan Barlow 5.03 Darrell Jackson 5.11 Alge Crumpler 7.11 Eddie Kennison 8.02 Chris Brown 9.11 Kurt Warner 10.02 Brandon Lloyd 11.11 Brandon Stokley 12.02 Phillip Rivers 13.11 Jaguars 14.02 Eric Parker 15.11 Jeff Reed 16.02 Jon Kitna Rudi at 11 is a steal. He's good for 1400 and 10+ TDs. But yes, your next four picks are reaches. I think I will face that same problem when I pick 12 tomorrow. If there's a guy you want and you have a long wait between picks, you fear losing them if you don't jump. I like Chris Brown for the first half of the season, so you might be able to move him after week 4 or so.
jbwillisjr 0 Posted August 27, 2006 had the same problem drafting 12 of 12. It seems like your picks are forced b/c you have to take the picks you like in order to hit on the ones you think are great values. I got Westbrook 1.12 and Smith 2.1. Then HAD to take JJ and Heap. I got lucky hitting on AJ in the 5th. All my picks seemed forced. I really wanted R Williams but couldnt see taking him in the 2nd and he went 3.11. ERRR!!! Hang in there for late draft values....it does loosen up a bit later on.....
