JREarly 0 Posted August 29, 2006 Alright. I am in a 10 team league. I drafted Portis 12th overall with my 2nd round pick. I also picked up Duckett in the late rounds. Should I or should I not do this trade? I will list my team below to let you know what I got. I need help at WR and I am afraid of Portis and his injury is the only reason I am considering this deal. Is it legit? or am I crazy for considering? Standard scoring in my league. We start QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR/RB, TE, K, DEF ...... I only have 1 day to decide ...... My Team: QB - MCNABB, PLUMMER RB - PORTIS, CADDY, K. JONES, GORE, DUCKETT, TOEFIELD WR - HARRISON, GALLOWAY, D. JACKSON, STALLWORTH, A. BRYANT, ENGRAM TE - HEAP K - REED DEF - CAROLINA A guy in my league is offering me this I give: RB - Portis RB - Duckett WR - D. Jackson K - Reed I get: RB - Dunn RB - Lewis WR - Boldin K - Rackers I would really like some input on this trade offer. I am really stuck on what to do. I give up Portis and his handcuff in Duckett for Dunn and Lewis. I don't know if I really like this that much cause I hear Dunn is also banged up a little bit and we all know Lewis has his hip issues (along with other issues). I get Boldin for Jackson which I really like because I don't want to have to worry about D. Jax and his knee all year, but he is supposed to be ready by season opener. I get an advantage at the kicker position but that isn't that important. What do you guys think? I get rid of one injury risk (Portis) to pick up two more guys with injury risks as well (Dunn and Lewis). Someone tell me I should not do this deal and why. Or you can feel free to convince me to do it. I am so up in the air. Thanks for all input. Leave a link for me and I will be more than happy to respond and help. Football Fan 20 2 Posted August 29, 2006 I don't like it at all. I would rather keep a banged up Portis then aquire a Dunn who thought he had the job all to himself and then finds out he has another back to compete for his job after Duckett left. Boldin is a good WR but, I feel Warner looks more Fitz way in the red zone. Your WR aren't really that bad now that stallworth is in PHI. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=225714
lv_2_hack 0 Posted August 29, 2006 No, I don't like it either. Who are the guys other rb's. Maybe try to get someone besides lewis b/c with lewis being hurt. Say no to this one.
boogaloobboy 0 Posted August 29, 2006 OK this is a tricky trade offer. I love it and heres why. You give up a back and his cuff, but gain two starters. In a league where 3 backs can be started having Jones/Dunn/Lewis/Caddy is going to take you a long way. Package that with Boldin and Harrison and your golden. Finally not to dwell on preseason results but I would run and hide from any redskin they look god awful. Flexibility is the key here, you make your team much more likely to handle a RB injury by adding a starter basically for free and upgrade tremendously in your wideouts. sheadtoo 1 Posted August 29, 2006 I'm goona have to agree with boog haveing three starters is a great option you can play match-ups and also have a plan B incase of injury

enoto 0 Posted August 29, 2006 I would take it for the 3 starters reason along with your worry about DJax. You are trading away 2 players that are currently not playing for 2 that are banged up some. Who knows what DJax will do he so up and down and injury risk too it seems. See mine http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=225753
gphil 0 Posted August 29, 2006 I would take it. Just my gut, but I think you will actually like Gore's numbers better than Portis by year's end, plus you will have a top notch WR group. Just my opinion.
yomamahates 0 Posted August 29, 2006 No Way. Even though Portis has a big ? on his head, he has a rather large head. Which means once he becomes somewhat okay to play, he's going to work himself like an ox. The only thing interesting (not really) about the trade is Rackers. That is...if this was last season! Rackers will be average this year, now that the Cardinals have solid WR's and an RB they won't be scraping for FG's. Dunn and Lewis are average RB's that won't serve too well. No Way.
