SaintsInDome2006 441 Posted September 6, 2006 okay i took Rhodes with the no. 60 pick, right at the bottom of rd. 6 in a 10 team league (standard scoring). Passed on Deuce, Droughns, Th. Jones, Chet Taylor, Travis Henry, Ahman Green, and yes Joe Addai. I see some respect for Rhodes out there, but nearly all prognostications have (and had) Addai going higher. But why? Rhodes pulled out 1100+ yards in 2001 in 10 starts for the Colts, he IS the Colts' starting RB, he has 5+ seasons of experience with this team, Addai is a rook who will always be behind on the learning curve, so why hasn't Rhodes been rated higher? I keep seeing how Rhodes is fragile but I recall Addai getting hurt pretty badly at LSU, so isn't he the fragile one? And Addai didn't look all that special in the preseason. The starting RB on the Colts just seemed too good a value to pass up.
Ray_T 753 Posted September 6, 2006 Rhodes is decent, but at this point in the draft I'd have taken the bigger name. it was announced that Ahman Green is the starter. I'd give him a shot before Rhodes. he is actually available on waivers in my draft. If I didnt already have a ton of depth at RB I would pick him up. but he is not a guy that people pick until late in the draft (like last 3 or 4 rounds) either way, that's my opinion. also tommy jones may not be a bad late round pickup. even if he loses his job in chicago, he will get traded eventually and then he will light it up. SaintsInDome2006 441 Posted September 6, 2006 Thanks for the reply; I may have blown that one. At this point, I'm hoping that Rhodes will do well in a couple early games and then try to trade him for good value, though people know the book on Addai. I'm sure Rhodes can't hold him off forever. Who knows, but I think the prospect of the Colts' starting RB made me jump. Thanks for the feedback. I think I'm good at RB otherwise (start 2): LJ, McGahee, D. Foster, D. Williams, Rhodes
