Trade help

Recommended Posts

An owner in our league posted the following:

"I want to rid myself of an Oakland player, there Offensive line was worse than pathetic. Marc Bulger isn't needed, he should do solid in the upcoming weeks. Anyone have a good WR or RB they want to trade for one, or a combination of these characters?"

Before week 1 he was already trying to deal Moss, but he wanted too much. Now it seems like he may be panicking a bit. Should I make an offer? This is a 12 team redraft, points for yardage, all TD's 6 points and half a ppr.

My roster:

QB- McNabb, McNair

RB- Alexander, Addai, C.Benson, B.Jacobs, Lundy, Norwood

WR- Boldin, Evans, Stallworth, M.Jones, Gabriel

K- Kasay

DST- Eagles

His roster:

QB- Vick, Bulger

RB- Jordan, C.Taylor, S.Davis, P.Holmes (yes he drafted Davis & Holmes this year!)

WR- R.Moss, Mason, Kennison, Branch, Lelie

K- Vinatieri, Elam

DST- Steelers, Patriots

My first thought is to try and make him some sort of an offer for Jordan. We drafted before D.Davis was lost to IR and I had to pick up Lundy. That has left me a little thin at solid starting RB's. What sort of offer should I consider making if any?

i would try and offer him stallworth while his stock is so high. i would see if he'd give you either for him. there is no way he should, but if he does.... otherwise, i personally would even be willing to pair a back with stallworth. mcnabb spreads the ball around so much, i'm just not certain stallworth can maintain no.1 status. as for lamont or jordan, i would opt first for lamont with the no. of touches he will get.

I think he needs Jordan more than you do so the value in a trade won't be even. I also am not very high on Jordan this year at all. I would try and go for Moss and offer him a combination of a rb (Benson or Lundy) and a wr.

Depending on the starters in your league you could use a solid #2 RB so I'd target Jordan.

Try offering Him Stallworth and one of your RBs (Addai maybe) for Jordan. Your WRs are fine with Boldin, Evans, & M.Jones

I wouldn't mind Stallworth-for-Moss. If Moss ends up not panning out, oh well, your WRs are fine without him. You could even try McNair/Stallworth for Bulger/Moss (if you'd prefer Bulger).

You're thin at starting RBs..but this other guy is thin at RB period. But he has 2 kickers and 2 defenses on his roster. So while it might be hard to wrest Jordan from, dare I say, most owners in his position (despite the crapfest that is the Raiders, he will still at least get touches)...you might be able to swing it with, Addai/Stallworth. Or even Lundy/Stallworth if you're slick.

There is no way in his right mind to want to trade Jordan. You take Jordan away from his team and he is screwed. I really dont see a RB on your roster that will even come close to Jordans production.

If you want to take a chance on Moss then offer Stallworth for Moss straight up but if I were you I would sit tight with your team!

Many people have mentioned that trading Jordan makes absolutely no sense for him, but if he is as much an idiot as you make him out to seem he might give him up for either Benson or Addai (if he thinks they have breakout potential) as they are the big name RBBC backs you have. You might have to package Gabriel or Jones if you want that to happen though.

I like Lamont and think gobuckeyes said it right. Thats a good deal for you. But I'd be weary of them raidaz, they are dysfunctional--who know what disaster is next. I am so glad Moss is not on my team. It's trouble with that guy--last season he didn't do much. Not cause he sucks but his team does.

Thanks for the help btw.

My gut feeling is off of that guys team the only one I would want would be Taylor. Don't feel like you have to make a play for someone just because they want a certain player gone. You need RB2 help but there is no way if I was that guy I would trade you Jordan otherwise he is screwed and your WR's are fine without Moss and personally I would stay away from that whole Raider situation. IMO look elsewhere to make a trade otherwise offer the guy Stallworth and Addai for Jordan otherwise stay away. Thanks for mine btw.

Since it's redraft, you might think about packaging Stallworth and Addai for Jordan. It's a classic buy low/sell high opportunity for you. If you're ballsy and he has the reputation of being trigger happy or not too bright, you might give him an initial offer of Stallworth and Jacobs. But if he doesn't take your first two offers, I'd cut it loose.

Thanks for responding to mine.

I agree you need Jordan and you may be able to get him for a steal. Your receivers will be fine with or without Stalworth. Jordan has a better chance at putting up numbers than any RBC
