2nd String Players

Recommended Posts

I am in a 10-team league and I think my Team is good enough to be in the finial 4 for the playoffs.

I am going to try and improve my Team but I am thinking that if I think I will be in the playoffs starting to protect the Team that I have.

I have always valued starters over backups so this is a Fantasy Football philosophy change for me.

I think the 2 most valuable players on my Team are Warner and Barber.

Should I drop Bledsoe and pickup Leinart?

Drop Lundy and pickup Jacobs?

I do not think either of my original 2 players can be packaged in a trade of any consequence.

Making both these pickups will still leave me C. Brown, T. Williamson and a free slot (I am dropping Detroit after the SD bye week) to play with.

Starting Team:

QB K. Warner

WR A. Boldin

WR A. Johnson

RB T. Barber

RB E. James

TE B. Watson

W/R W. McGahee

W/R F. Gore

K J. Kasay

DEF San Diego

Bench:

BN W. Lundy

BN D. Bledsoe

BN C. Brown

BN T. Williamson

BN Detroit (SD has a bye week in week 3 and Det plays GB)

Picking up backup players limits your options and I am curious what other people do. I am not talking about Denver, NE, Ind., etc. RBs. I am talking about 2nd string players like Turner.

Any thoughts or opinions on either my 2 specific questions or 2nd string players in general would be appreciated.

I would definitely drop Lundy for Jacobs. I'm not sold on Lundy and apparently neither are the Texans since they made a move for Gado. I think Bledsoe is going to improve I saw a stat that when he has a QB rating below 50 he almost always bounces back with a QB rating over 100. You're going to need Bledsoe for bye weeks also. Dropping him for Leinart will leave you with no QB's when Zona is on the bye. Help me out:

yeah i agree with robz19 about your qb dilema, i like the way your trying to get players with big upside just in case a stud goes down. I think your pretty loaded at RB and if i were in your shoes I would try to find a little WR help (not bashing your team). I agree that Warner is probably your diamond but I dont think jacobs is going to steal much mojo of tiki's, so i would probably go somewhere else than Jacobs, but hey just my thought. I like the TE i have him on my team and expect big things since branch is gone. good luck

Anyone who wants too is more then welcome to bash my team all they want. I know I have a good, but not a real good team, and need some help. Especially at WR.

I appreciate everyone’s feedback.

First off, sonce you have Barber and he's your main RB, it would be wise to have his back up in Jacobs. Leinart has no value unless Warner gets hurt. Bledsoe's going to bounce back and he's a good QB#2. Lundy doesn't look like the answer and if getting jacobs means dropping Lundy then I personally would do it. I think Jacobs would give you more points than Lundy anyways....Good Luck
