just_want_2_win 0 Posted September 22, 2006 I am 0-2. Lowest scoring team in league so far. Trying to defend last year's championship...not looking good. Reshuffled roster with trade and WW pickups: QBs: Bulger, Rivers (start 1) RBs: Tiki, Foster, Jordan, Barber III, Jacobs (2) WRs: Boldin, Keyshawn, Cotchery, Colston (2) TE: Desmond Clark K: Akers D: Panthers I have been offered Joe Horn for DeShaun Foster by the other 0-2 team in the league. His roster: QBs: Leftwich, Hass RBs: LJ, Duckett, Droughns WRs: Bennett, Housh, Horn, T. Brown, Toomer TE: V. Davis K: Graham D: Broncs, Jets What do you think? Accept? I usually think a RB for a WR is a bad deal but I am very concerned about Foster since DeAngelo is breathing down his neck for the starting job, not too mention his penchant for injury. If I counter, what should I ask for?

LDC02 0 Posted September 22, 2006 I agree that Foster isn't going to be a great play from here on out due to injury and Williams looking ready to take over, so now would be a great time to move him. That being said, I'm not sold on Joe Horn or the Saints for that matter. Brees doesn't seem to be looking his way as much as I thought that he would and I think Horn's age is starting to show a little bit. Toomer would be a good get, but I might try and get Housh out of him while this injury keeps his value down. As another option, you might try to get Droughns for Foster. I don't know how savvy the other owner is but Droughns hasn't looked real good so far, and he might be willing to deal. He doesn't have much RB depth, however, so he might not want to deal one. To answer the original question, I'd probably make a Horn for Foster move due to the fact that Foster's production is likely to take a huge dive in the coming weeks, while Horn can only go up from here. I'd defintely try and get Droughns, Toomer or Housh first, however. Just my opinion. Thanks for the advice in my thread!

biggspence1 0 Posted September 22, 2006 I agree i think Foster's production will go down from here. I would make the trade...but i would try to see who i could get out of this guy before i settled for Horn. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...&hl=im+torn

Kupper 0 Posted September 22, 2006 If you were stacked deeper at runningback I'd say go ahead, but with Lamont Jordan and Tikki as your only starters I'd say no don't do it. Especially since the offense in Oakland looks to be in shambles and it won't be getting any better. Who knows white type of year Lamont Jordan is going to have especially since that offensive line is a sieve. I'd have to say hang on to Foster. You're getting more out of him then Jordan and I think that will be the word for the rest of the year. Your wide receiver lineup looks good and your not gaining anything with Horn. The other guys you have sitting on the bench are about equal.
Ricky's Swami 0 Posted September 22, 2006 I am 0-2. I usually think a RB for a WR is a bad deal but I am very concerned about Foster since DeAngelo is breathing down his neck for the starting job, not too mention his penchant for injury. If I counter, what should I ask for? Don't do it and I don't see much to counter for. This guy doesn't have enough RBs to help you and you don't need Horn. Colston is surpassing Horn as the #1 receiveing option in the Saints' offense b/c Brees doesn't like to go deep - he likes the big guys ala Gates/Colston. If you're worried about Foster, you should move a WR for a RB not Foster for a WR. Also, Jordan should do better - he can't get any worse - since the Raiders did play two of the best Ds in the NFL (SD and BAL). It's hard for both of us at 0-2 to sit tight but maybe that's our best bet. P.S. Foster still has the Fox's trust and who knows if Deangelo could carry a full load. I think Foster will be productive even while splitting time. He won't lose his job completely.
crackbubba 0 Posted September 22, 2006 Here's my 2 cents. Joe Horn will have a good year, don't listen to the naysayers. Won't be Viking era Moss numbers, but it will be good nonetheless. Foster isn't looking good at all, and even if Fox trusts him, another week with Deangelo outperforming him (with the same amount of carries) will make his teammates NOT trust him, something Fox will certainly realize. Then he will be benched. Good for Deangelo Hall owners, bad for foster owners. Another thing to consider is Steve Smith is going to be back. That means more air time less ground time. Your WR corps is awesome, and Horn will only add depth. Foster will only fill his roster with another worthless back. After taking Horn you could shop around for another better back. Maybe even a QB (brunell will have about 3 good games this year, Rivers will be decent most of the year but won't produce too much vs big name defenses)
LoserKid 0 Posted September 22, 2006 While the deal will certainly hurt your RB depth, I think you have to do it. Like many others, I feel as though Williams will shortly start to take on more and more responsibility on that offense, plus I hate having as big of an injury risk as Foster on my team. I think you have to just cross your fingers that Jordan picks up the slack. Also, you could possibly trade Keyshawn and Jacobs/Barber3 for another running back who gets more touches. Or just hope that Barber3 gets more involved, as his numbers have looked good enough so far (as his YPC has been over 4 for both games). Good luck. PhinsFTW 0 Posted September 22, 2006 I agree with everyone else, Foster will be riding the pine soon as he has done little to keep his starting job over Williams. I'd do it for Horn, but try to squeeze TJ Housh out of him first. Thanks for answering both of my posts.
veebs4 2 Posted September 22, 2006 I would say try for Housh, then, if you really feel Foster is going to be phased out, Horn. Tough choice though. My Dilemma
Poloc2289 0 Posted September 22, 2006 i gotta say counter and try to get toomer over horn. colston is just stealing too many balls from horn and toomer should get looked at more after his huge game at philly
Football Fan 20 2 Posted September 22, 2006 I'd do it. Foster is about to lose his job, I'd try and get Housh or Toomer though. With Housh injured you may be able to get both if you throw in another sub-par player. Good luck check mine http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=236211
Dascoopman 0 Posted September 22, 2006 Well based on your roster thats a tough move cause I dont like Jordan as a starter at all so unless you can add a WR like Crotchery or Colston to pick up Droughns(I know those WR are probably better than Droughns right now, but i'd take Droughns over Jordan) then maybe i'd do it, but I wouldn't do it without getting a RB back whether its with this team or another team, your too weak there as it is with Foster and Jordan. help me http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=236219

golden bear 0 Posted September 22, 2006 I wouldn't do it. You need the RB depth.
Illini4evr 0 Posted September 22, 2006 I wouldn't do it. You need the RB depth. I agree, Horn at this point hasn't proven himself and RB's down the stretch are going to make or break you. Keep Foster for a little longer and if Horn shows signs of improvement then maybe try to unload again.
