Marion Barber III .. will he be huge this year?

Recommended Posts

For some reason, the texts did not appear in my original post .. here we go again.

Do you see Barber replacing J Jones in Dallas soon? Or will he be just a fill-in week in and week out?

I need to decide between dropping him and Greg Jennings this week cuz I need to pick up a kicker. I was leaning heavily to Jennings ealier cuz I thought Barber had more potentials to be a top fantasy player, but right now he is not even starting while Jenning is. What would you do?

Please leave your links. I will answer all, as always.

I'm sorry I know you answered mine, but as you can see I'm dealing with a similar delima. I really want to keep him on my team but at this point he's a big risk. Parcells keeps talking about him being a big(ger) part of their lineup, so if you have J. Jones than definately keep him and if not then do what you have to. If your WR are deeper than your RB I'd keep him as well.

This is a tough one. To complicate the matter it looks like they are adding Thompson to the RB mix in Dallas. But I would still stick with Barber

I wouldnt pick him up unless you need a handcuff for Julius Jones and have an extra roster spot to do it.

Not sure how deep you are at either RB or WR, so it's hard to say. As starters, Jennings will be a more consistent scorer than Barber and I don't see Barber changing unless Jones gets hurt. And I see Jones getting snatched off the waiver wire quicker as well, so you might be able to pick Barber back up after this week.

Any reason you can't just drop the kicker you have now?

I don't see Barber replacing Jones anytime soon (though my personal opinion is that he SHOULD), so I'd let him go and hold on to Jennings. He was a big time WR at WMU (close to my home actually) and look to see him put up some big numbers the more he and Favre get used to each other.

Then again, the suggestion to just drop your current kicker is a good one, too (unless you already had dropped him).

Thanks for mine!

Here is my related roster ..

RB: Jordan, Caddy, Dunn, A Green, Barber

WR: S Moss, D Jackson, R Williams, D Branch, G Jennings, A Bryant

So, would you drop Jennings or Barber?

Wow, that is a tough one. To me it looks like you have better depth at WR. Drop whoever your least likey to start over the next few weeks.

Thanks for mine

I think you're fine with your other RB's. Drop Barber. I think that Jones will hold on tight this year despite what Tuna says. Sure they might split carries here and there, Jones will still be #1.

I agree, unless JJ gets hurt you'll only minimal points. You are solid with your rest.

Thanks for mine: seh2000.

I'd drop Jennings and Barber both. Then grab a kicker and handcuff Dunn with Norwood (assuming he's available). Unless Jennings goes off in a big way this week, you can probably even get him back in FA.

I think Dallas will be RBBC for majority of season unless JJ has injury..Which CAN happen. Jennings - Would drop. Favre is looking to Driver - Jennings will get few touches but not to compare what Barber could get if JJ goes down.

SO - hold Barber for a while, drop Jennings.

Good Luck

I would go ahead and keep Barber for now, his future looks brighter than Jennings IMO and he will be a better fantasy back as well. Thanks for mine

You have to keep Barber.

He has the skills to be an every down back.

He is also a good size for a back.

And if that wasn't enough JJ has missed 11 of 32 games and could easly miss more time.

now from my own observation of watching the last game:

Parcells used Barber at the Goal line. Plus JJ fumbled again, and Parcells doesn't like fumblers.

Marion Barber - RB, Dallas Cowboys 9/21/2006

Dallas Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells has recently indicated his desire to get backup RB Marion Barber eight or nine carries per game in relief of starter Julius Jones.

As if Julius Jones owners needed more angst in their life, Parcells love affair with Marion Barber continues to grow

So I do like Jennings, but he is the one to drop.

Keep Marion Barber. A potential Stud in the making.!!! :(
