I love this play...I may have to do something similar. I may do a 5 teamer with Indy, Balt, Atl, Wash, and Dallas (I dont like having a 3 on a parlay (Dallas)..you still get odds but not nearly what it would be.

Gents, good Sat a.m. to all. I'm trolling towards the college thread and thought I'd pop in.

I'm still working on a few NFL games but I'll drop a little hint:

After a fantastic week of college football, I'm hoping to translate that success over to NFL tomorrow. Taking more risks than usual and betting more than my standard unit plays:

How many rushing yards will Maurice Morris record against the Chicago Bears in week 4?

66 or More +180

New Orleans +7.5 (-120) - This line makes no sense. None whatsoever. Not only is NO 3-0 and Carolina 1-2, New Orleans won in Carolina last year and they were arguably the worst team in the league in 2005. Plus, their games tend to be competitive so I can see Carolina ending the winning streak, but not by more than a TD (at least I hope).

New Orleans ML (+270) - And in case they go 4-0, hard to pass up on nearly 3:1 odds!

San Diego -1 (-120)

Minnesota Vikings vs Buffalo Bills - Chester Taylor vs Willis McGahee - most net rushing yards

Willis McGahee -12½ rushing yrds (+145)

Good luck to all! An easy Yom Kippur to my Jewish brothers!

Already bet a few:

Bengals -6

NE/Cincy OVER 46

Bengals score OVER 26

(Can you tell I expect a shootout?)

ATL/Zona OVER 40.5

Props:

Braylon Edwards to catch four passes

Chad Johnson to score a TD (banged up NE secondary and he seems due)

Leaning on Bills, Bears, STL

and CLE/OAK OVER is calling

(only 33.5...how incompetent can 2 teams be? I think Walter might be better than Brooks for Oakland)

Any Raider fans out there with an opinion as to how your offense will look today?

Noon Picks:

Indy -8 It's on the road, but Indy withstood the tough Jacksonville defense last week, and barely won. I think Indy will be out to show they have things working on all cylinders once again.

Chargers -2 Good game. I like the Chargers defense and running game to win a conservative battle.

Bills -1 Buffalo has played some good games and being at home should be enough to destroy the 1st year coach of Minnesota.

Titans+9.5 The Owens distraction will filter itself indirectly to the field, whether Parcells is aware or not.

KC -7 Larry Johnson should go off today and San Fran played over their collective heads last week to win.

Carolina -7 I like the fact that Steve Smith is back and that the offense should be working again.

Atlanta -7.5 The Falcons need to get the bad taste out of their mouth from Monday night.

Miami -3.5 The Dolphins aren't ready to let up after squeaking out their 1st win. This should be a blowout.

I'll take a shot at it:

Ravens/Chargers Under 33.5

Rams -3 1H

Jets to score more than the Texans

Carolina -.5 1Q

7 Point Teaser

Colts -1.5

Cowboys -2.5

Panthers PK

Maybe more later depending on how suck ass I do in the early games.

Oak +2.5

Balt +2.5

Hou +3.5

Oakland wins outright, Houston has their best chance to date. Atlanta stomps Arizona. Baltimore D too much for Rivers, though Reed's status plays a big part in that. Bills are solid, as are Vikes; simply a home field pick.

Looking hard at the Jets +8 and SF +. Probably avoid the Niners due to injuries.

Let down for Jacksonville coming off game vs rival Colts, Wash got some confidence back by blowing out Houston last week. I think it will be a low scoring game, and I'll take a shot on Wash at home in a game that is kind of a toss up.

Good luck to all! An easy Yom Kippur to my Jewish brothers!

Hey, the site was down on football Sunday. I never would have guessed! :D

Ecch...all those damn unders in the first half, and I choose the one game that goes over! (SD-Bal)

Doubled up on the McGahee bet when the odds dropped to +180.

Went for the middle in the San Diego game with Balt -1/2 (+110). Now need the Chargers to win by 2, 3, 4, or 5 points, or Baltimore to cover; a SD whomping will leave me with a limited loss but it's worth it.

That might be it for the day as I get ready for the holiday. Good luck to the rest of you!

Yom Kippur. You have it right! Thanks.

And I too am a Colston fan today. Not because of fantasy (I actually missed out on him on blind bidding), but because he helped me cash the nice New Orleans +7.5 ticket. It was especially sweet because I was so depressed after the Saints' defense threw in the towel and let Foster run in that huge TD.

McGahee comes in a nice 2nd for cashing that underdog prop by outplaying Chester Taylor with some timely long runs in the 4th quarter.

:wall:

The greed monster in me is pissed that San Diego allowed Baltimore to score a TD after the safety. The two points made it the perfect middle. All SD needed to do was hold on against a struggling offense. But no dice. But I'll take a push over a loss anyday!

I pussed out of taking the Cowboys -3.5 for the second half.

:wall:

Still pissed at myself for not doing this bet. I had a good first half of the day though, but I had to sweat out the Carolina and Indy games.

I took the under on the New England/Cincy game, but I'm not sure on that one. Both teams now starting to move the ball. I took a 10 point teaser on

New England +16

Raiders +12

Redskins +13

That one will go down to the wire too.

Adding: Seattle (+3.5)@-115 for 3 units

This line opened with Seattle as the favorite. When Alexander was ruled out, the line jumped. And I think it moved too much, and over reaction. Maurice Morris has quite a bit of ability, especially catching the ball. And he will likely have opportunities to catch dump offs, as the Bears will blitz, and blitz often. Chicago is allowing 66% of passes to be completed against them, and the only way they will slow down Seattle's new potent passing game featuring 4 WRs is to pressure Hasselbeck. Seattle is clicking on offense, converting 55% of third down chances over the last two games. Chicago is strong against the run, but has shown weakness in the secondary, so the loss of Alexander isn't as big of a loss for this particular matchup. Chicago's offense has seemingly improved this year, but they did so against Green Bay, Detroit, and Minnesota. Seattle's defense is very solid, and Chicago will not enjoy the same success scoring points.

Maybe this is a bit of a homer pick. But I have done decently with Seattle this year, taking the Lions with the points and going with Seattle vs Arizona. Granted, I had the under in the Seattle/NY Giant game last week, but I didn't expect that kind of production by Seattle's offense. I'd like to think that I have a feel for the Seattle games this year, and I am having trouble seeing a scenario where Seattle loses by more than 3, and I think they win the game.

Sunday night football game:

There is no Shawn Alexander tonight. Alexander gives Seattle the ground game that Holgrem is so comfortable with. It seems the Seattle team is going through an offensive change. They are passing more. It's not what they have been as a team. It's not Holgrem's preferred style. Morris might be able to do more out of the passing downs than Alexander but he can't pick up the tough yards like Shawn Alexander can when you need them. Seattle needs to have two backs ready to go now that Alexander is out. Not only Mo Morris, but Strong too. Strong is the goal-line back. So both have to be on their game as opposed to only one guy usually. The Chicago defense is psyched. In fact one or two of them have said this is their superbowl. When players are jacked to play, it makes a big difference, even in the pros to some extent. I'm not 100% confident in Chicago's offense, but I think they'll be ok on their home field. So far Grossman has done alright, so I"m assuming that will continue. Also, Seattle will miss the lineman nicknamed "Porkchop". THis is a power offensive lineman that really will be missed. Also, Jeremy Stevens, the starting tight end is out. Maybe that won't mean much, but it should be mentioned. Chicago is looking to win, so they can believe they are the best in the NFC. I personally don't think it means that, but many of them believe that. The Bears really want this game.

My play for tonight is

Chicago -3.5

How many points would the Packers have to get? I'm actually considering the 1st half spread on tomorrow's game because I think Philly gives up alot of points in garbage time. And I don't want to be hangin' on the chalk side when Green Bay gets a backdoor cover. Still not sure...
