bgard72 10 Posted October 21, 2006 I'm in a 12 team redraft, start 1 QB, 2 RB's, 3 WR's, 1 TE, 1 Def, 1 K. My team is in my sig below. I was talking to another owner about acquiring Shockey from him (currently, I have Alex Smith at TE, who is serviceable but just for a redzone TD). He has Shock and Desmond Clark at the TE spot. I offered him Chad Johnson for him. We started talking more...and I told him that I think I'll need a WR back from him as well. What WR and Shockey would be fair? If any? His WR's: Steve Smith - that's asking for too much Jerricho Cotchery - a possibility Moose Muhammed - a possibility Rod Smith - don't think that's enough This WR I would get would most likely serve on the bench as my 4th WR. What do you guys think? Work out a deal for Shock or stand pat? Thanks!
jbogli 0 Posted October 21, 2006 I am a huge Giants fan..... I would stand pat. Shockey always finds a way to get hurt. I know you need help at TE but what about getting Clark or someone who is under performing like crumpler or witten. I know Chad has been bad but i am not sure giving him up for shockey is worth it. ggroovy17 0 Posted October 21, 2006 Even with C.Johnson's shoulder, i'd still keep him. He still gets alot of receptions and those will = TD's as the year goes on. Please see mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=246383
cooldawg16 0 Posted October 21, 2006 stick to what u got.....don't trade for shockey....u r giving up too much... thanks for mine
vinniedasquid 0 Posted October 21, 2006 The last couple weeks the Bucs have actually had a functioning offense and Smith has been getting more targets (not just in the red zone), and I think that should increase a bit. That being said, obviously Shockey is an upgrade. I don't like the idea of giving up Chad for him because he should eventually be the stud that he has been, but their oline is in tatters and he's underperformed all season. (I realize you probably know all this, just thinking out loud ) I not sure which side of a Alex Smith-CJ for Shockey-Cotchery trade I'd want to be on, so it must be pretty fair. As much as it pains me to say this, I really like what the Jets with Pennington have been doing, and I like what Cotchery has shown us. I'd say shoot for that one since you have pretty solid WR's even without Chad. I don't know if my random babbling helped at all, but thanks for your help with mine. gamedaydecider 0 Posted October 21, 2006 I'd keep Johnson--he WILL get his points eventually. But if you do trade, make sure you get 2 players--either of them would be ok but I doubt you will get Smith. Thanks or he help.
