nosferatu9368 0 Posted November 10, 2006 This is a 10 team league. I'm 5-4 and in 2nd place in my division he is 2-7 in 4th in his. His Team P.Manning D.Brees Edge R.Droughns T.Henry M.Barber III T.Holt M.Colston L.J Smith J.Shockey D.Driver J.Kasey A.Vinatieri Miami D Tampa D The trade was this. Keep in mine TE's are used as WR's in our league. I gave him D.Foster, A.Gates, L.Evans, Philly D He gave me T.Henry, M.Colston, L.J Smith, Tampa D I added up the total fantasy points scored by all players involved in our scoring system. The players I gave him scored 183 points The players he gave me scored 177 points All 8 other owners voted against the trade, is this because it really isn't fair or is it because i'm 5-4 with a chance to win and they are worried adding Colston could make me harder to beat. Please leave a link I will answer all of your as well. Thank you so much for your opinions Good Luck Peace...
jdizel 0 Posted November 10, 2006 It should not have been vetoed. There worried about you getting Colston and being unbeatable.
HIW 0 Posted November 10, 2006 It should not have been vetoed. There worried about you getting Colston and being unbeatable. Exactly! When you get a guy bringing up the rear and trading to a guy near or at the top, it will definitely be viewed that way. Especially if the player at the top gets a guy who'll make his team BETTER. In my league, we got one guy saying he doesn't care anymore and is offering ridiculous trades to everyone. Commish has locked down his team but he can still trade. Another team at the bottom is SELLING his players....do trades of players for money. Again, each manager needs to be on their toes and looking out for these trades or else it falls through the cracks.
Cuse9 129 Posted November 10, 2006 D.Foster, A.Gates, L.Evans, Philly DHe gave me T.Henry, M.Colston, L.J Smith, Tampa D The reason the trade was vetoed was due to ignorance on the other owners parts. I really don't see why it would be vetoed. You upgraded (not by much) at wr. He upgraded at every other position! This is a perfectly fine trade and I don't see anything wrong with it! I wish I could point something out to make you feel a little better, but if you're pizzed off about the veto....you should be! Thanks for checking mine....appreciate it. Good luck! HIW 0 Posted November 10, 2006 Yes...nothin wrong. But, any trade will be viewed as being ONE SIDED in favor of the higher ranked team. Especially this late in the season..with playoff berths at stake.
lifelongcowboysfan 0 Posted November 10, 2006 Try sending the trade through again. That happened in our league once and went unnoticed the second time around lol Trade seems fair and was vetoed only because they don't want to see your team get stronger.... ECS 0 Posted November 10, 2006 Looks fine by me, ive seen some crappy trades and that isnt one of them
mackgeescott 0 Posted November 10, 2006 The trade is fair, but vetos are often unfair, especially late in the season. Most people when play-offs get close don't necessarly look at player for player, but ow it will impact the team they might have to play for the championship. It's a fair trade, but I can understand why it was vetoed. It would make you stonger where you need it. madd futher mucker 36 Posted November 10, 2006 I assume you will get in a different league next year. No reason to play again in a league where they are ALL a bunch of clowns. I could understand a vote or two against this trade by the usual couple of crybabies who are vetoing purely out of their own self interest. But when the whole league vetoes a trade like this. I have to question YOUR judgement for playing with them in the first place. No way this trade whould have even come close to a veto in just about any league where the owners know how to play ff and actually allow trading to be part of the strategy. This group just doesn't get it. Time to move on.
nosferatu9368 0 Posted November 10, 2006 First off thank you all for your opinions. But it gets worse. The same guy who e-mailed me and told me the entire league voted against it has made a trade with the guy I was trying to trade with. Here it is The guy I was trading with gives, remember he's 2-7 and in 4th in his division T.Henry & D.Brees The guy who said the league Vetoed the trade gives, he's 3-6 in last in my division T.Jones & P.Rivers Also he just picked up Rivers last week from the WW and played him and he got 4 pts from him. Now when we add up the points scored for these players using our scoring system its T.Henry 34 pts D.Brees 94 pts T.Jones 38 pts P.Rivers 61 pts And actually Henry has averaged more per game than T.Jones because he's only played in 6 games. Here's the Kicker, so far 5 of the other 8 owners said this is fine, not one has vetoed this trade. Now this isn't a league where I can just not join next year, this is the 10th year of this league and we are all friends. Tell me i'm not crazy in thinking they just don't want me to win? These are all friends from my home state and now I live in Texas so I haven't seen them in almost 3 years, so they can and do get together still to party and what not, the only way I ever talk to them is by e-mail or on the phone after everyone gets home from work. Not sure what I should do. Thanks again for all your help. Good Luck Peace...
mkuz 0 Posted November 10, 2006 i would NOT have vetoed that trade...however if i were you i would be glad it did, i think you were on the wrong side of that trade. mine http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...=251539&hl=
Dol-Fan 0 Posted November 10, 2006 I agree with the guy that said to resend the trade. This happened to me as well. If they decline it again, your league is messed up.
