HenryChinaski 1 Posted September 3, 2007 Alright... Lineup decisions are kind of tough in Week 1. Especially if you have a few people that rate similarly on your board. Need to start 2 WRs. 1pt/10yds TDs are worth alot more based on distance. They are worth so much more that - Lee Evans was the No. 1 WR last year in this league. Just something to think about. Joey Galloway @ Seahawks Vincent Jackson vs. Bears Santonio Holmes @ Browns It is a very hard decision for me. I really like Galloway to have a good year this year with Garcia @ QB. He would have had a very nice year last year, if it wasn't for the horrible QB situation. So I am leaning towards him. Vincent Jackson is also someone that i really like this year, but I'm not sure that I like the matchup with the Bears. Part of me thinks that San Diego might have to pass a little more than normal - because of Chicago's defense. But, I'm also thinking that the passing game might be hard to rely on as well. On a regular week, he would be someone that I hope to start often, but just unsure because of the matchup. As for Santonio Holmes, I love him in this league. I think he really takes off this year, he has been making plays all preseason and this league is definitley setup for his game. I have a feeling that Pittsburgh will come out swinging, showing off their new offense, but I think this is probably more of a feast or famine play. He quite possibly could go off - but he also could put up a dud. So opinions? Thanks in advance. Leave a link, and I will respond.
MarkF150 0 Posted September 4, 2007 I say Jackson and Galloway. I like Galloway as well with Garcia and Jackson just because Rivers has to throw the ball at some point and he is his best option when Gates is double covered. Joey G and Holmes ,although I think Chicagos D is very over rated and I think SD is going to bury them this week. Saying that Id go with Holmes due to the fact that LT2 or Gates are going to score most of the TDS..

Holmes is a good reciever but he still has to contend with Ward, Nate Washington, and Heath Miller for receptions and red zone looks. I would feel more comfortable with Galloway as I see him breaking one for a td or two in week one. Jackson is the main home run threat in SD and could have a nice game against the Bears. Good luck. remote controller 143 Posted September 4, 2007 I would go with Holmes vs. Browns. I just don't see garcia having the arm to properly utilize Galloway.

HenryChinaski 1 Posted September 4, 2007 I would go with Holmes vs. Browns. I just don't see garcia having the arm to properly utilize Galloway. That is a good point, but Garcia was able to hit Galloway on a nice 30-40 yd TD pass agains Miami in the preseason. I know Galloway runs alot of deep routes, but if he gets behind the defense within 50 yards - I don't see Garcia having a problem. A deep ball only needs so much arm, since you can kind of just throw it up, it's the hard-outs and such that require alot of revolutions on the ball, that he will have problems with. If Garcia can start hitting Galloway in full stride on some slants and other timing patterns (which Garcia happens to be very good at), there could be some huge numbers for Galloway this year. As for your question, I'd go Galloway and V. Jackson. I think TB will probably be playing catchup vs. Seattle, so there should be lots of second half passing with Galloway as the primary beneficiary. He also is just so explosive, and against an ordinary-at-best defence with new faces in the secondary, I'd definitely start Galloway. With regard to V. Jackson, it's more of a "don't start Holmes this week" notion. Cleveland's rush defence is notoriously....well, garbage....so I expect Pittsburgh to be running the ball early and often. With that in mind, Ward and Holmes (and Miller, Parker, and whomever else) will not have a large pool of passing yards to split up (maybe 20-25 passes attempted total for Pittsburgh?). It just seems like there's much risk of a 0 or 1 catch week and small reward in starting Holmes this week when FWP will probably be a stud start. To me, Jackson's the lesser of two evils this week. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=283886

I watched alot of Tampa games last year, and the fact was that he got open ALOT. Gradkowski just couldn't get him the ball. I think with a easier schedule this year, which will open up the run game, and Garcia at QB, I think Galloway could put up double digit TDs like he did the year before.
