jakeman24 0 Posted October 24, 2007 I am wrestling back and forth on who I should drop with Matt Stover on bye this week. I don't want to drop Stover because he is one of the most consistent kickers in the league but I dont know that I have a choice. This is my current line up for week 8 (we start 1QB, 2RB's, 3WR's, 1TE, 1K, 1DST): Jon Kitna QB Adrian Peterson RB Ladainian Tomlinson RB Chris Chambers WR Marques Colston WR Reggie Wayne WR Donald Lee TE no kicker to start Giants DST Bench Chester Taylor RB Michael Turner RB LenDale White RB Larry Fitzgerald WR Todd Heap TE Matt Stover K Who should I drop? miken21 0 Posted October 24, 2007 I would say Turner or Taylor, I understand they are you handcuffs, I am going through the exact same thing I have Stover and don't want to drop him. I was going to drop Keith (he is my handcuff for Addai) until he had a great Monday night. I am probably going to drop Stover and pick someone up on the WW, but I know he has been great this year. If you really don't want to drop one of your handcuff players drop Stover and hope for a good WW option. I am also having a pretty good year and not playing a very good team and I even thought of not starting a K this week, but will most likely pick up Dawson for CLE he should have a nice game against STL. Sorry for the book, but i know what you are going through Help me with mine please http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=297957
NotAClue 0 Posted October 24, 2007 How active are the players in your league? Do they really hammer the wires for kickers week in week out? I don't know that dropping Stover this week and picking him back up next week would be a terrible move. If you want to keep Stover, drop Taylor. Childress is promising more and more touches for Peterson. You might want to drop Chester Taylor Saturday night or something so that no one can pick him up this week. I don't foresee him having good games against the Eagles or SD. So if anyone was to pick him up, good chance he'd end up right back on the wire. mine
Dabears33 0 Posted October 25, 2007 Depending on how many teams and the kickers available on the wire, i may risk dropping Stover for someone. Also depending on how you handle the waiver wire, you could pick him back up after this week. I dont see anyone picking him up on his bye week. Thanks for answering mine. Neckturd 0 Posted October 25, 2007 Dude, he's a kicker. So what if he is reliable?? I am sure there are other kickers who are also just as realiable...Having said that, I would drop Taylor IF you are in a 10 team or less league. You don't need him anyway and No one with any sense would pick him up anyway http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=297998

Whoever i drop, there is little chance that i will be able to pick them back up. If I drop a handcuff, one of the other owners will pick them up just to piss me off. I am in a 12 team league and there is not much to choose from on the wire. My best options are Rob Bironas, Lawrence Tynes or Mason Crosby. As far as dropping a player and picking them back up, the order for our weekly waiver wire is decided by power rankings. I am currently in 1st place with a 1 game lead, so that would put me at the bottom of the wire next Wednesday. I don't see Stover still being available for me to grab by the time I pick. I might have to chance it anyway.
KSB2424 3,148 Posted October 25, 2007 Drop Stover Sunday morning at about 12:45 for another kicker (check out Phil Dawson this week). By the time the weekend is over the other owners will be worried about picking up some flavor of the week 4th WR. Then proceed to pick Stover back up. mine? http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=298008
epinindy 0 Posted October 25, 2007 I would drop Stover. Most teams are probably not carrying 2 kickers so there are probably alot of them out there, if not Stover next week there will be another solid kicker out there. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=298017
