Tommy Boy 0 Posted September 7, 2008 In a PPR league (1 pt) I have TWO flex positions to fill and need help figuring this out since I've been wavering between all 4 RBs: Laurence Maroney (vs. KC) - I'm a fan of Maroney's talent but will he get the touches? Playing weak KC DEF so should perform IF given the opportunity. Earnest Graham (@ NO) - Will get his touches so I'm liking him for 1 of 2 spots. Chris Perry (@ BAL) - I sort of have a man-crush on Perry...especially in PPR league. I'm thinking about a 60/40 split between him and Watson. DeAngelo Wiliams (@ SD) - Another timeshare but you have to be impressed with his preseason performance. My other RBs i'm starting are RB1 LaDainian Tomlinson RB2 Maurice Jones-Drew Thanks in advance for your input!
polecatt 478 Posted September 7, 2008 I would definitely play Maroney. Anyone for them is likely to score and he is going to get most of the carries without Faulk. As for the other spot, I'm leaning towards Perry but it's close between all 3.

Fantana 0 Posted September 7, 2008 Maroney and Graham, and it's not close in my opinion. Both are #1 on the depth chart and guaranteed touches. Sure, there is some risk of Dunn and Jordan getting a look here and there, but Maroney and Graham will get the lion's share of the touches. I think Perry will be in a close split situation with Watson, and Williams is in a definite time share situation.
canada1 0 Posted September 7, 2008 In a ppr I like graham (should get a td) and perry (should get 4 or 5 rec).. thanks for looking at mine
digsfantasy 0 Posted September 7, 2008 I would absolutely start perry and grahm ... how is anyone pulling to start maroney ??? he was crap for fantasy last year .... i'm lost .... wait to start him until you know what the plan is for n.e. earnest will rock it !! http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=322289
BunnysBastatrds 2,449 Posted September 7, 2008 Grahm or Perry. I hate Maroney. He is wortless untill the end of the season! Too many weapons in N.E. to choose him this early. Wait till he proves himself!
T-HO 1 Posted September 7, 2008 I just think KC will be punting alot and giving NE good field position all day. More chances to score means the game gets out of hand early. The pats will simply try and run out the clock,so Maroney should see more touches. He had 7 games last year with at least 14 carries at 4,5 ypc. He had around 20 carries twice vs the jets and vs Buff. Teams with bad D's. Also had 100 yds in 2/3 of those games. Graham is a guy you have to simply ask yopurself a simple question about: If you don't start Graham and he has a good game, was there a good amount of evidence which suggest you should have started him over the other options? That's what I ask myself. New Orleans has ranked 14th,23rd, 27th,30th and 29th the past 5 years in run defense. So keep that in mind. THAT is the stat you needed to know to make this decision. Maroney and Graham. With an explanation. HTH
Mmueller 0 Posted September 7, 2008 Graham #1 option then Perry/Maroney... I lean towards Maroney but that's just my gut.
rrj86 0 Posted September 7, 2008 Hey, thanks for answering mine..... Now for yours: I know people are down on Maroney and you do get PPR but because he's now the starter will Perry be getting the same amount of receptions as he would were he the 3rd down/relief back that he usually is? I think Kenny Watson will get those kinds of receptions. I'd go with Maroney and Graham. Graham is a no brainer, I'd even have him ahead of MJD.
Tacks 0 Posted September 7, 2008 Graham jumps out at me out of that bunch. Start him for sure. Then, I like Perry over Maroney. Maybe it's because Maroney burned me last year. I just don't trust the Pats will give him enough carries. Thanks for mine
bblank1975 0 Posted September 7, 2008 I go Maroney and Graham.... Baltimore still has solid run D and SD may not be sold on Delhomme's injury return so they could try and stuff the run.
Sgt_Russia 0 Posted September 7, 2008 Another vote for Maroney and Graham
Tommy Boy 0 Posted September 7, 2008 Thanks for all the responses! This is the tally so far: Maroney: 7 Graham: 8 Perry: 5 Still not a clear cut answer. Looks like a game-time decision between Maroney and Perry.
