CajunBadger 10 Posted September 21, 2008 I see MJD as the definite start. For my other RB, I was seriously considering Sproles. Now it almost appears I have to go with J. Lewis. My thoughts on each RB: LT - his number of touches and production will still be limited Sproles - how bad is his hamstring - had thought he'd get more touches than LT and produce reasonable if not better fantasy numbers than LT Lewis - was limited in Friday's practice, hard match up in Baltimore Bush - heard he might get 20-25 touches, don't like match up against Buffalo, have to go without kicker if I play him (see below) To complicate things...due to not being able to make a trade, I may have to drop M. Bush to pick up a kicker (had posted before asking if anyone saw an alternative to dropping Bush). I'd rather hold on to Bush to see how McFadden is and if Bush might contribute later. One thing I can do is to wait until Monday and see how I'm doing (opponent has V. Jackson playing Monday night). If I haven't played him and feel I need to, I can drop him then and pick up Feely for at least a few more points. Who would you start?
mrgymrat 0 Posted September 21, 2008 The Bills DST is stout and should dominate the Raiders so I would probably drop Bush anyway (as you planned). The Browns are struggling so that's a tough call. Last year, Lewis was 23 carries for 64 yds & 1 TD in Week 4 vs Ravens and 22 carries for 92 yds & 1 TD in Week 11 as the Browns won both games. Someone has to run the ball for the Chargers but if you have to go with Lewis it looks like he has had past success. GL
CajunBadger 10 Posted September 21, 2008 Someone has to run the ball for the Chargers but if you have to go with Lewis it looks like he has had past success. GL Thanks and think I'm going to need some luck! Just like everyone else, I'm looking for another RB that might help strengthen my roster. I picked up Buffalo's defense this week and figured Bush was a bad start, but wondered about future potential. Kiffin says Fargas will regain his position when healthy, but would think he's fighting for his job and will do whatever it takes to keep it (that is if he's even still there when Fargas returns). Add in not knowing if McFadden's injury isn't an issue or more serious than they're letting on. That all should be answered today, but not before I have to make a decision. As for SD - they also have Jacob Hester (really liked him when he ran at LSU), but don't think he'll play much of a role today. Keep going back and forth between Sproles and Lewis... mrgymrat 0 Posted September 21, 2008 The Bills DST is a huge pickup if you look at their schedule during the FF playoffs. I have them and they have a pretty good schedule most of the year (it helps that they play the Dolphins twice) As for RBs, I have been looking to trade for Felix Jones & Chris Johnson in any of my leagues (I have 7) as you might be able to get them cheap right now, although Johnson's value is rising steadily. Johnson may be untouchable if he goes off vs the Texans as expected but I just got Felix for DeSean the other day (from someone who needed a WR). Felix could be huge if MBIII goes down and with his aggressive running style I think he may miss a couple games later in the year. GL
Pack-Attack 1 Posted September 21, 2008 I would hold onto michael bush and start him -vs- bills run d because mcfadden is stil wearing a protective boot for turf toe and that is going to limit him on carries so bush should see signifant carries.i say 85 rush yds with a score and 4 catches for 40 yds is not out of the question. good-luck please see mine
CajunBadger 10 Posted September 21, 2008 I'd stuck with SD's defense for the first two weeks but couldn't take it any longer...I know some folks say they'll be back on top but I couldn't wait - especially when Buffalo was available. Unfortunately Jones was drafted and Johnson picked up a long time ago... What's left is looking at backups filling in due to injury or lack of performance and might gain at least a good share of the touches. Am curious about Hightower's situation along with Rice/McClain (though don't like the RBBC with or without McGahee).
mrgymrat 0 Posted September 21, 2008 I picked up Hightower in one of my leagues because my RB #2 spot was weak and figured worse case he scores a TD each week. I am starting him this week in place of Addai (who has a terrible matchup). I had Rice for a while but didn't want to get into the having to decide which RB the Ravens would play game (similiar to the Broncos RBBC). The one I'm watching is the HOU situation with Slaton. I think he will be the starter but how good will the Texans be? Last year they showed promise offensively and were at least a bye week DST replacement and this year they have fallen off the map. If you have a roster spot Slaton might be a nice gamble although he has a tough matchup this week and several more down the road. I also picked up Michael Pittman and dropped Selvin in one of my leagues as a backup RB since he appears to be the goalline choice of the Broncos for now (this is in a league where TDs are at a premium and PPR is only after 100yds rushing) Hope this helps! CajunBadger 10 Posted September 21, 2008 Well, at the moment my game plan is... Watch the first game and see how McFadden and Bush look. If not impressed with Bush (and McFadden appears to be back), drop him and pick up Prater or Folk for K. If he looks good, can wait until Monday and see how I'm doing in my matchup (my opponent only has V. Jackson). If it appears I need to, I can always drop Bush late and pick up Feely for at least a few extra points. Am figuring I'll start MJD and Sproles - despite Sproles listed with a hamstring injury (can't verify it yet, but just hearing injury is minor) - think he's got the edge over Lewis. Plus with LT practicing yesterday, wonder if any further news will come out on how the toe is feeling today. Just heard on the NFL Network that Fargas is a possible game time decision - interesting...thought he was listed as out for a few weeks. Likely wishful thinking.
