ping 0 Posted November 8, 2008 Here's my current roster: QB - Favre and Frerotte RB - Westbrook, Slaton, Grant and McFadden ("The Toe") WR - G. Jennings, R. Wayne, L. Coles, DeSean Jackson and D. Avery TE - J. Shockey, V. Shiancoe K - Akers D - Chicago I am currently tied for first place in my league. I'm trying to prep my team to be in the best possible situation for a successful post-season run. With that in mind, I'm thinking about dropping McFadden (relatively high pick but pretty much useless all year...getting sick of waiting for him to recover). In McFadden's place, I'm looking at picking Buckhalter off the waiver wire to cover myself in the event that Westbrook goes down again. I was also considering dropping Donnie Avery (IMO, my team is pretty well stocked at WR) and picking up the Bucs DEF off the waiver wire. That way, I could play matchups through the playoffs...Bucs or Bears. Dropping McFadden doesn't worry me too much (this is NOT a keeper league)....I don't know if I'd trust him enough to start again...even if he starts playing in Week 11. I worry some about whether Avery will come back to haunt me. Note: This is a redraft PPR league (1 point per reception). We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 1 WR, 1 TE, and 2 flex positions (a WR/TE and a WR/RB/TE). Your feedback and reasoning is appreciated. Leave a link. For review: McFadden (drop) for Buckhalter (handcuff to Westbrook) Avery (drop) for Bucs Def/ST (will give me 2 strong D/ST's throughout playoffs) Thanks! LandenChase 0 Posted November 8, 2008 Yes, I like both moves. DMac will be a very risky start from here on out. I would avoid ALL Oak offensive players! I think you have enough WR depth to survive the loss of Avery. The TB sched is pretty weak over the next month or so which = good fantasy points for the DEF. If WR becomes an issue, look at your WR for the likes of Camarillo, Ginn, Jones, Jenkins, etc. Thanks for mine.
ping 0 Posted November 8, 2008 OK guys (and girls)...I've responded to a pile of questions out here and "left my link" as per your requests. I'd love to receive more responses to my questions. Thanks in advance!
kujerry 9 Posted November 8, 2008 I think u have a great idea.....i believe u would make ur tame better for the playoffs...do it
ltpunk 0 Posted November 8, 2008 I agree with dropping DMC for Buckhalter but I would hold off on dropping Avery his speed and hands he's gonna put up solid numbers. If you really want Bucs Def I would drop Shockey. He sounds like he's gonna whine about this inj. Shiancoe seems to be getting more and more looks esp. in the red zone. Thanks for mine Sorry for the delay-still at work
justagrl 0 Posted November 8, 2008 Definitely drop Avery for TB D. As for getting Buckhalter. Don't bother. You need a strong running back to matchup with Westbrook to make a run in the payoffs. I don't think you can afford a huge trade to get a huge name... however what is on the waiver wire? See what is there. Getting a handcuff for Westy won't get the job done in the playoffs and Slaton has a terrible stretch in the playoffs!
Wallyworld 0 Posted November 8, 2008 I'd go for it. I'm about to drop Mcfadden as well. You don't need Avery. Thanks for mine.
nosferatu9368 0 Posted November 8, 2008 I agree with both moves you talked about you dont need Avery and McFadden is worthless (Just think some people thought he would be better than AD) Someone else mentioned getting a better 2nd back, thats what I really think you need to do, Try and package maybe Slaton and Coles and see what you can do the rest of your team looks pretty good. Thanks for mine Good Luck Peace...
ullloveit 0 Posted November 8, 2008 I think you should back up Westy with Buck but I do not think you should drop Avery. You have a very high scoring D so you do not need the Bucs and I also think Avery could be your 3rd Rec. He has great matchups the back half of the season and Coles is injury prone. Do not drop Avery. Mine Please http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=332439
