Tyler Thigpen or Tony Romo? WHIR

Recommended Posts

Pretty straightforward question, Thigpen or Romo? I've got Romo in right now as I've spent the last few weeks pining away for my MVP of the first 6 weeks, but I'm getting a little cold feet thinking about how Thiggy has come through for me recently and has the much better matchup.

One thing to consider is our rather unorthodox scoring system. Points for QBs don't start until they reach 100 yards, and then it is 1 point per 10 yards after that. So in other words 300 yards is 20 points. TDs are based on distance. Under 10 yards = 5 points, 10-19 = 6 points, 20-29 = 8 points, 30-39 = 10 points, 40-49 = 12 points, 50+ = 15 points. Turnovers are -5 points. So the major consideration is that distance counts and Romo is more of a big play threat, but he also is more of a turnover threat? What do you guys think?

Wow strange scoring system. I like Thigpen - this week at least. He has a nice matchup, and Romo might be a rusty and has a less than friendly matchup. I'd let it ride with Romo the rest of the way starting next week. Thanks for mine.

I don't have the data for each QB based on your scoring system, so I can only give my opinion based on overall gut feel...

In a standard scoring system, my gut tells me to start Thigpen over Romo, given the match-up...

I would go Tyler as well.... Based on matchups...KC should be down against the Saints and needing to throw...and he has been looking good..

Thanks for mine...

My only problem with thigpen in that scoring system is the long ball and the turnovers. Romo may throw a few picks in a game but he could get you 3 TD over 30 yards. Thigpen, from what I've seen, may be throwing it a lot but their running game is nil without LJ meaning a lot of double coverage on his big receivers.

In a normal league I'd say Thigpen but in yours I would go with Romo.

Thanks for answering mine!
