Deangelo Williams, Steven Jackson, Rashard Mendenhall

Hey guys, I am in a .5 PPR league with a dilemma at who to start this week. I made a few moves and landed Deangelo Williams, who I plan to pair with Jackson for the rest of the year. However, Mendy has a great matchup at KC Sunday, and I am having doubts about who to start out of the 3.

 

As of right now, I am starting:

 

Deangelo Williams against Miami

Steven Jackson against Arizona

 

But, Mendenhall should at least get consideration, right? Let me know what you all would do in this situation, and leave a link so I can help ya out too!

That is a tough decision, but I would do Jackson for sure and Mendenhall. Mendenhall has such a good matchup against KC and Jackson has been on fire.

 

DeAngelo is questionable this week too and on short rest..(Thursday night game), then I would not play him. They may even give more reps to Jonathan Stewart.

 

So for it would be:

 

Stephen Jackson

Rashard Mendenhall

Agreed, Jax and Mendie... No real competition for carries and good matchups to boot.

I don't think you can wrong with any combo, but I guess I agree that you should go with SJax and Mendy.....but I'd seriously consider DWill. KC can be thrown on and haven't been too horrible against the run. I do think PIT will pound it, and will get a lead eventually and will squeeze the clock by running it. But he gets the nod over DWill because he won't share as many touches.

I own those 2 in a league and I just can't play anyone else - not Snelling, Betts, Forsett, etc.

 

This is a prime never bench your studs week. I gotta believe DWill will deliver!

DWill and Mendy. DWill because of the ridiculous holes their running game is getting. Mendy becuas eof the matchup. I like SJax but they might be behind big early and abandon the run more than they'd like to.

Of your two studs, I think D. Will must be in your lineup. Neither him or Stewart is 100% going into this week, and everything I've read suggests that Stewart may be less productive on short rest (nature of injury + trends for how he's performed the week after heavy workloads this year). Everyone's riding the Stewart bandwagon lately, but D Will is the clear beast on that team.

 

The other 2 is a real tough decision. I see S Jax as a stud, and if I drafted him as such, I'd personnally probably roll with him. But FWIW I lean heavily towards the "never bench studs" policy than matchups for my QB/WR/RB's. He's coming off a big week, is at home, but facing a pretty good Arizona DEF.

 

Mendy's got a great matchup, and isn't too far off "stud" status himself in my mind. You can't really go too wrong using him, but like I said I'd personnally use S Jax.

DeAngelo has proven that he's a must start regardless of matchup and Stewart's presence.

 

It's a tough call between Jackson and Mendy. But despite the latter's tasty matchup, go with the recent hot plays of Jackson.
