Need 2 Keepers

Recommended Posts

I am in a 12 team Auction/Keeper league where I am allowed to keep 2 players (Only 1 RB). Standard decimal scoring with a $200 cap. We are only allowed to keep players for 3 consecutive years and this is now presenting a bit of a tough decision for me. I can't keep Peterson any longer so he will be available in our draft and so will MJD. Virtually every other big name RB rated higher than DeAngelo is being kept. Here is my team and the price that it would cost me to keep each player.

I'm Keeping Roddy White for $10 already. So I need one from this bunch.

Justin Forsett $6

Felix Jones $19

Percy Harvin $7

Dallas Clark $14

Those are the names that I have narrowed it down too. We start 1QB,2RB,1FLEX,2WR,1TE,1K,1DT. I'm leaning toward Dallas Clark.

I like the Dallas Clark idea, but you could save some money with Harvin and bid on MJD. Pretty sure media hog Favre will come back, making Harvin a good deal...for this year.

Good luck!

Please answer mine if you get a chance.

I think your best options are Harvin or Clark. Both are great players. If i had to choose between those two i would go with Harvin. Percy is a great WR and a great kick returner. No matter who's the QB for the Vikings, i think Percy will succeed. Clark is a really great Tight End, but with the Colts' depth at the Receiver position, and with defenses covering him tighter now-a-days, his numbers aren't always consistent. Clark will have some big games, but i think Harvin might be more consistent.

I am already keeping Roddy White, so I can't keep Clark & Harvin. I'm allowed to keep 2 and have really thought about keeping Harvin, but I can't bring myself to pass on Clark at this point.

I'd go Clark simply because Harvin's value hinges on 1) Favre coming back & 2) Harvin getting over his migraine problem. I think Favre will be back but you never know, maybe the ankle needs more time than he has to heal...

You know what you're getting w/ D Clark.

I know that. That's why i said your best option (between the four players) is Harvin or Clark.

Harvin. Cheap with more upside. If he doesn't work out $7 isn't much, and I think well worth the risk. Good luck.

Keep Harvin, TE is rediculously deep and you might be able to pick up Clark for a similar bid this year. Even if Favre doesn't come back Harvins value at $7 is still great, they threw for over 300 yards this weekend

I'm assuming that if the best RB on the board is D Will, then you are already at a disadvantage going into the draft if aren't keeping any of the top 6-7 backs.

If you think you can outspend your opponents to get MJD or AP back, then I would keep Clark because his TE production will separate you from the pack. I think even if Favre comes back, he will come back to earth a bit and not have as good a season as 2009. I also don't trust how he will spread the ball around with a healthy Berrian this year and Rice getting better with each passing season. Plus he loves Schianco in the red zone.

However, if you think 2010 is a rebuilding year, then take Harvin. You won't care if 2010 is a rebuilding year and the Vikings will certainly get a guy in there in 2011 who can help them win with all the pieces they have in place. They won't groom another Tavaris Jackson...they'll make a trade to shore up the position.
