This is probably stoopid...DJax for....?

Recommended Posts

I am in a standard scoring league, no PPR, and have been offered Mark Clayton (StL) and Eddie Royal for Desean Jackson. Normally i wouldn't consider the offer, but my depth at WR sucks and we start 3 WR.

My WRs before the trade:

Desean Jackson

Steve Smith (Car)

Louis Murphy (just picked up off waivers)

Cotchery

Mike Thomas

After the trade:

Steve Smith

Mark Clayton

Eddie Royal

Louis Murphy

Mike Thomas

I think I am stupid to even entertain this idea, but I am afraid to trust Cotchery at #3 and If Royal and Clayton maintain their success it will make the loss of Jackson easier....

I'd hesitate to do that, but I prefer having two strong WRs when you have to start 3. It seems that between Clayton, Royal and Murphy you'll be faced with a tough weekly decision about which two to start with Smith.

I wouldn't do this deal. In trading, I always want to try to get the best player in the deal. Desean Jackson is by far the best player in the deal. If it was a PPR league, I would consider it, because Clayton and Royal will both get their targets. But Desean Jackson is the explosive playmaker and much better in non-PPR leagues. He's a top 10 WR, while Clayton and Royal are probably not top 30 WR's. I think Louis Murphy can give you almost as much as either of them will the rest of the season.
