Captain America

Yahoo says I will finish in last place....that bad?

Recommended Posts

I realize I could have done better, but last? I disagree. What do you all think.

My 2nd draft. 10 team this time, non-PPR. I had the first pick.

Anyway...
Must start QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, D, K - Std scoring, no-flex - 6pts rush, rec., 4 pts pass. I had 1st pick (again).

QB Peyton Manning (3) - reach, but wanted Manning
RB Adrian Peterson (1)
RB Frank Gore (2)
WR Marques Colston (4)
WR Jordy Nelson (5)
WR Mike Williams (7)
TE Jermichael Finley (9)
D/ST Green Bay (14)
K Stephen Gostkowski (15)

BENCH
Darren Sproles (6)
Chris Givins (10)
Miles Austin (8)
Mark Ingram (11)
Kenny Britt (12)
Rashard Mendenhall (13)

I reached on few, but then a few fell my way that were nice values...so...Let er' rip

You got a great team... yahoo is full of lol.

I don't like packers D... maybe pick up Chargers, Falcons or Bengals. Well, refer to playoff 49er game for lack of run D.

Yeah, I will be doing a D by commitee. Thanks for your input.

Here's what they say (short version):

The GM of Captain America might be on the hot seat after turning the top overall pick into Yahoo Public 123456 League's worst projected record. At 3-11-0 (1,331 points), they're predicted to finish in 10th place-- but that's why they play the games. With their first five picks, Captain America focused on balance, selecting QB Peyton Manning (21st overall), RBs Adrian Peterson (1st) and Frank Gore (20th), and WRs Marques Colston (40th) and Jordy Nelson (41st). They landed the best pair of RBs in the league, as they scooped up Peterson and Gore to carry the load.

I think they need to lay off the pipe

The problem is Frank Gore. He's 30 and that's when RB's fall off the cliff. Sproles is a better option over Gore. Britt has potential if Locker can play decent. At WR you should have at least one great stud and you don't. Colston is a solid WR2 and Nelson is a decent WR2. Where is your WR1? The Gore pick should have landed you another stud RB or WR. Obviously if you look at my avatar, I love Peyton Manning. No reason to take him in the 3rd, not when you can get his brother four rounds later and not have a huge drop in ppg.

I do think you will struggle this year based on your lack of star power. Your stars not only put up great points, but they cancel out the other teams studs. You are missing the studs to do this for you. Anything is possible and you could very well kick butt, but it's doubtful.

Good luck.

Thanks for the honest eval.

I'll hope for the best. If Gore does good, I should be competitive.

That's exactly what I was going to say. You are really betting on Gore finding one more good year. If he does you are fine, if he doesn't then you will struggle.

Plus, with that bet and the reach for Manning, you really hamstrung yourself in the WR department. I do like the depth there though in Givens, Britt, and Miles. I just hope one or two of your starters really take off.

Love the Mendenhall and Finley picks. Mendenhall MAY shock people this year and end up a top 15 running back.
