You should realize that, currently, the American people do not feel this way. And that they have major buyers remorse. I do not believe the economy is doing well. In fact I would argue that it is doing far worse than it would have under Kamala Harris. My reasoning is fairly simple: Biden inherited a huge economic mess caused by Covid and Trump’s mismanagement of Covid. Biden responded by emergency spending. That made everything better but also inevitably triggered inflation. Biden fought the inflation by further investment in key industries and infrastructure. That worked but too slowly for Kamala to win. Trump then took over a recovered economy in 2025 with inflation slowing. All he had to do was leave things well enough alone. Instead he clamped down on necessary spending, raised ridiculous tariffs all over the planet, and severely hurt our labor system through his draconic immigration and ICE policies. His Big Beautful Bill made healthcare too expensive for millions of Americans. And now this new war may jack up gas prices, the one area where Trump was somewhat successful in lowering. So I think your assertions in this thread are completely wrong.

It’s quite possible what we did in Iran last week ends up costing far more $$$ and makes us less safe in the long term. And Harris is as qualified as Trump was in 2016.

In the 50s, women didn’t work and stayed home to raise children. Single parenting or illegitimate children were a no-no. Social programs were done by churches or other means, if you got money from the govt you were disabled or literally could NOT work. We cared for the elderly in our own homes, rarely would we send grandma off to die with strangers. The family unit was more valued. Education was a huge thing. College wasn’t something that bankrupted families and neither were medical bills. Men worked HARD and didn’t have the slightest inkling that “maybe they were really a girl.” We had clearly defined gender roles. You cannot compare post WW2 American culture with today; the culture from the 50s doesn’t exist…because WOKE. And women’s liberation/feminism (which traditional feminism doesn’t even exist anymore). Again, because WOKE. And yes, I am a woman. But I’ve said for years that one of the worst things to happen for our society is women entering the workforce. That’s a story for another time.

Are we talking murders or mass shootings? I would assume mental illness runs higher in mass shooters than the average murderer who may be pissed off at someone or do it in process of a robbery etc. To me there’s a difference in being mean enough to shoot someone during a robbery or pissed off enough at one individual to shoot them, and taking the leap to just killing random people or groups. I think the trans percentages are likely higher on mass shootings because those are likely more tied to mental illness issues.
