Thanks for having me! The best ball league sounds like a lot of fun. I've never played in one of those but wanted to. I'll enjoy that. I participated in the July draft last season, so I shouldn't have much trouble but I'll ask if I have a question. Let's have fun!

I'm in

Yes Marino, and Dan Fouts, they put up those huge numbers well before the game had become so offensive favored. The rules have changed drastically, and as a result the play styles. How would a more modern minded coach have worked out in those days with one of those guys? Fun to talk about but we'll just simply never know for sure. As for Andy Reid, and his stints with McNabb in Philly and Mahomes in KC, I think you could say several things about that and why it's worked out much better in KC. For one, I think Mahomes is just simply a much better QB than McNabb. The NFL itself was much different then too. It was more offensive minded but at the same time, the hard hitting days weren't exactly done with either. If you remember the short Michael Vick era in Philly, sandwiched in between Andy's McNabb and Mahomes eras, it was electric, but Vick took perhaps the worst beating a QB has taken in the modern era. Neither him nor McNabb really had the skill set to excel in that system. All 3 had great arms, but Both Vick and McNabb were inaccurate short passers. Whereas Mahomes is great.

I think Brees is kind of like a poor man's Joe Montana. He's not the most talented QB we've ever seen. He's has mediocre arm strength. He's a bit small/fragile. However, he's very accurate on short throws, and has quite a good football mind with a great work ethic. Pair that with the proper HC who can custom fit a system/roster to cater to his strengths, and minimize his weaknesses and you get HOF results. Do that with an above average talent, you get Tom Brady. Pair that with an elite talent, like a Dan Marino, not sure what you get... Don Shula was too old school. Perhaps that's what we're seeing with Patrick Mahomes in KC now.

Jameis Winston also threw 30 interceptions in that season...

Shocker! Football, real or fantasy, whole, real numbers matter. Can't have much of anything without the targets
-
Thanks, just curious as to see how valuable of a stat this is. Doesn't seem to be worth much. Not for fantasy purposes at least.
-
Out of curiosity, do you know who was in the top 10? A few at least?

Confidence is at a new low in Indianapolis Colts' field general Anthony Richardson

I think he's somebody that would need to be in the exact right offense to succeed. He's not in that. Doesn't look too promising. In my dynasty league where we get big bonus pts for TDs over 40 and 50 yds, he's worth keeping around for his deep ball alone -
I think the jury is still out on him, but he did make some big improvements from his rookie season to year 2. Mostly, the amount of times he was sacked went way down, from a horrific 62 in his rookie season, to a respectable 29 in his 2nd. If he is learning to get rid of the ball that much quicker, it's a good sign. He had 6 rushing TDs too, that's a sign he knows when to tuck and run perhaps. Of course as the Panthers continue to improve, hopefully, on offense, it will help him out a bit as well. For fantasy purposes, he's depth with potential for a bit more.

I've said for a while now that Stafford is as good as Rodgers, he was just stuck on the Lions all those years He should be HOF too

Hot take of the day: being a security blanket isn't a good thing

I guess it depends on you league and scoring, but in most leagues that means they will get a lot of targets, which in fantasy football is a very good thing, especially PPR. Now, you could argue that they're not the highest quality of targets, and that may often be the case. However, points are points, and targets typically lead to catches, which lead to yards, and hopefully a few TDs. Players like this are at the very least nice bye week or injury fill ins -
Right, it's the NFL, not the NBA
-
He will be a 1st ballot HOFer... That's not really even up for debate
-
They're gonna be able to stretch the field for sure. CeeDee is a good deep threat, and IMO the best WR in the NFL after the catch. Pickens is a 6'3 with deep speed Kavontae Turpin is the fastest player in the NFL They drafted an RB with a 40 time in the 4.3s in Jaydon Blue, perfect for screens and dump off passes. Dak could be in for a big fantasy season

Yes, I agree with that. It will probably be easier for him to win DROY than OROY playing both ways. Take the number Maximum Overkill put out there, 70% of the offensive snaps. That's a significant amount that he may not reach if he plays CB. But for him to put the numbers of 1200 yds and 7 TDs, he would have to come close to that. I think those numbers are far from a lock and wouldn't necessarily win him OROY because there could be other rookie on offense that put up big numbers, or a QB that comes out of nowhere or something. It would certainly put him in the ball park though solidly to win OROY. However, on defense, especially playing CB, if he's a ball hawk, he could literally win DROY on a handful of plays. 5 picks and a pick 6 or two and he's will probably win on literally 5 plays
