Cowboys have apparently been very impressed with rookie RB Phil Mafah, a 7th rd pick out of Clemson after preseason game 1.
-
Those are my two RBs on my dynasty team. Thankfully I don't have to get rid of either. If I did, I would definitely keep Kyren Williams. No brainer to me. He's just simply been more reliable, consistent, and a higher scorer. I don't see any reason he would fall off this season beyond normal risks.
-
It's certainly getting close. I don't see him playing well into his 40s like others. I think Stafford is a HOFer. He's in the ballpark as the other elite QBs of the past 15-20 years or so IMO. He's just gotten a raw deal because he played for the Lions
-
He had some lingering back issues in Detroit. He's had recent elbow issues in LA. His career is winding down
-
If I had the 1st pick overall, it would be between Saquon, J Jefferson, and J Chase... Outside of the ACL tear, Saquon really has gotten a bit of a bad rep for his injuries. He's played at least 13 games in every season otherwise. He's 28, should be in the prime of his career. I don't think there's any more chance he hits the wall this season than most any other veteran RB
-
They said he was too small to be a full time RB, but he held up really well last season with over 300 carries. He's a top 10 RB in the NFL, good deal

Yeah, it's a cycle of talent, money, and gameplans. It's like that with each position to a degree, but I think RB has been especially volatile. The position has been extremely devalued in two of those aspects, money and gameplans. It's only natural it's gonna lack in the 3rd area. RBs were mostly living on rookie contracts. They were cheap, so it was easy to stock up on them. Pair that with the gameplanning. The primary objective, taking handoffs and running with the ball, was devalued just as much. However, their secondary jobs, receiving and pass blocking, were more valuable than ever. This led to RB by committee with specialists in these various areas. Fast forward a few years, the RB talent is thin at the top. Defenses are designed to stop the pass and are thin against the run. That means it's the perfect time to bring back the high volume, workhorse RB, like Saquon Barkley or Derrick Henry, to run through the soft defenses. So the dominant workhorse RB is making a comeback, and will surely be rewarded with big money contracts... The cycle continues...

Awesome! Thanks bro

Apparently now he's requesting a trade

I don't know. RB seems to have made a bit of a comeback. Tougher to predict? Probably, but I think a lot of just has to do with more depth. Last season, seems the reliable RBs didn't last past the mid 2nd round. That was as bad as I've ever seen it. I don't think the days of old with 2 RBs in the first two rounds will ever come back, but I think we may be seeing a bit of a resurgence of the feature RB. RB by committee seems to be slowing
