Dang, almost everything. I walked by myself about a mile to school in Kindergarten and then also walked home by myself. About 1979. Was home just myself and my sisters who were 2 years older all summer from kindergarten onward. -
Sounds like an unsavory individual.

As Biden would say: come on, man. You can definitely make your point without resorting to this kind of phrasing. Over the years, you’ve shown that you’re not a dummy. If you keep it civil, there’s a CHANCE someone will actually hear what you have to say. There’s a group on both sides who will never concede that they might be wrong, but for the levelheaded among us your message never stands a chance because you open with “bruised vaginas.”

What do you think the UFO announcement will be
MLCKAA replied to JustinCharge's topic in The Geek Club
The Bible is the story of what God did on earth. It doesn’t say that he didn’t create any life anywhere else. Extraterrestrial life is compatible with the Bible. If you were God, would you only put life in one place in the whole vast universe? That’d be like having a 1 acre backyard and having just a single potted plant out there in the whole thing. -

As I’ve suggested here before, I really don’t see why it has to change anything they believe. -

Trump appoints Tulsi Gabbard as Director of National intelligence
MLCKAA replied to mmmmm...beer's topic in The Geek Club
I’m confident in Gabbard because she’s decisive, responsible, intelligent. To say she was the best qualified option is a stretch but that doesn’t make her a bad choice. -
I didn’t posit either of those thing, certainly not the second half of point 1. My post clearly states a worry about corporate “values” being wholly embraced by government. Regardless, I infer from your posting history that we’re in general agreement about many things including the need to take a red pen to federal government. So, we’re friendlies.

There’s no reason to resort to that. You’ve shown yourself to be a smart guy and I’d expect you to be able to disagree with someone without getting insulting. This is something I’ve lobbied everyone for and several other posters have come onboard with it. Insults just kill discourse. That aside, your comment above is not really related to what I posted.

I’m a staunch proponent of eliminating government waste and inefficiency. I’ve felt that way since I was a teen, before I could even vote. However… I feel trepidation about having the government run like a sociopathic corporation. Corporations care ONLY about the bottom line— do anything at all for the sake of return to shareholders. Corporations by design ignore the human element and the real human consequences of their actions. That should give everyone reason for caution when transferring the corporate attitude to government. I want to eliminate government stupidity, but it needs to be done thoughtfully.

What will President Trump do about the January 6 defendants?
MLCKAA replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
We can all believe what we want to. That’s not the only narrative and, IMO, not the most compelling. -

Ethel Rosenberg was not a spy. My other point might not have been articulated well enough, I suppose. I was trying to point out that it’s hypocritical for a nation founded on revolution to punish people who take the same actions later in the life of that nation. And that’s IF one even considers J6 an insurrection, which I don’t think you do. -

She most certainly was not. -

Ethel Rosenberg might like a word with you. And I’m assuming there might be a black or two who’d take exception with this assessment. But , I agree many or most should be pardoned. I mean, even if one agrees it was insurrection, don’t we live in a country born of revolution? -
Partly because different states have different economic situations and each state should determine for itself what the minimum wage. Similar to how each state should decide for themselves about most things.
