I have heard this many times and just don’t agree. Mind you, my intent isn’t to discuss the Bible or it’s validity here. But, the existence of aliens does not invalidate the Bible. The Bible is merely the account of what God did on earth. There is nothing biblical that says God didn’t create life elsewhere in the universe. In fact, if God created life on earth, I consider it probable that he also created life elsewhere.

Nicely done. Forcing the other party to offer a solution to your objection is a favorite of my wife. I encounter a lot of people who want to bait me into refuting or explaining away their complaints, spiraling into a pointless back and forth. What I like to do is tell them “I’m sorry you feel that way” and then hit them with the silence.

I use my comfort with the “awkward silence” to my advantage quite regularly. You’re so correct in noting that people hate it so much that they’ll often fill the silence with their own demise.

I also haven’t seen it advertised as a musical. Apparently Fleck dies at the end of the movie and it is revealed that he was never really The Joker. He was just a mentally ill murderer and people of Gotham started calling him The Joker? This is what the director has said now. And Harley dumps him. Probably not a good sign for your movie when the director has to ex post facto explain it to people.
