Hmmm. If true, I didn’t know that. I suppose I didn’t follow his career much.

Why Life May Not Be As Abundant As We Think

Cool. I don’t know if you’re being facetious, but take the wind for example. Perhaps wind is a type of organism. We breathe in oxygen and expel carbon dioxide to live. Maybe there is an undiscovered symbiosis between us and the air. Is the air an organism that depends on humans to remove it’s oxygen in order for it to survive? Maybe stone is alive in a sense that’s undetectable to humans, but every bit as much alive as we are. Certainly we do not know everything about matter and energy. We filter everything through the lens of human life, but we don’t have to. -
Why Life May Not Be As Abundant As We Think

I appreciate the post. However, these arguments are essentially based on the possibility of human life elsewhere or life as we know it. Other forms entirely different from humanity may exist. In fact, it may exist unbeknownst to us right here on earth. -
In one limited way, I have a shred of respect for it. Kneeling during the anthem is essentially a safe form of protest for the protesters. Take a look back to the 1960’s and understand that the people, white and black, who protested for civil rights actually risked something. Many of them risked their lives. Then compare that with pro athletes kneeling during the anthem and understand that their “protest” was one of the least risky things they could do. If NOTHING ELSE, Kap paid a price for his protest, misguided though it may have been to many people. He could’ve eaten crow and made his way back to the NFL, but he didn’t. I’m sure not saying MLK or Malcolm X or Medgar Evers or Thurgood Marshall would be proud of the guy, but at least he paid a price for his stance which is more than other players were willing to do.

First of all, filet is the only steak I cook or order. It can be nice with a little bernaise, but that’s it. If it needs sauce, you probably shouldn’t eat it.

Yes. Is that a problem?

Today I read that the events of this series supposedly happen 2 years prior to the events of Alien. That doesn’t jive because the tech in this series is far more advanced than in Alien. And in Aliens, as well.

While I agree about that cover, they were a talented group of guys who did some good music.

He calls her by name twice and then near the end uses a plural pronoun for her. Eyeroll. -
I prefer to think of you as creamy.

I got to hang out with those girls once. Hoped I’d fck one of them, but didn’t.

E2 gets right into the nitty gritty. Still, the consciousness transfer is a hard pill for me to swallow. Takes the saga in a direction it doesn’t need to go. I guess they’re trying to push the envelope, but it’s needless. And then there’s Morrow the superbot.
-
I understand this. I’m pot-committed to the Alien meta-narrative, so I’m all in. And also I didn’t hate E:1.
-
Are you a fan of the Alien saga or just interested in this show?
-
Well, the consciousness transfer into a synthetic body was a bit much for me, which is a shame since it’s such a huge element of the story. Regardless, I liked it and I think I’m gonna really like where it is going. ETA: The synth guy Morrow is kinda dumb with that welder in his fingertips. Is he a Terminator or something?
-
I kinda figured you’d say that. We may be the only people here who care.

What I liked about No One Will Save You was that, like Presence, it was a refreshing take on the genre. I also really like movies that can do it with little dialogue or without jump scares, relying on lighting, cinematography, soundtrack, etc.

Did you like the Nosferatu remake? I loved it. Have you watched Wolfman? Presence? No One Will Save You? The Damned? High marks for all of those.
