Every day in this forearm, for the sake of party affiliation, thought dies on the vine like unharvested grapes.

    Caitlin Clark debut

A whole handful of teams openly hate the Pacers, but that’s more because they’re lazy and hate the Pacers up-tempo offense.

    Caitlin Clark debut

They might let play that way. The coach said in an interview a few days ago that she wants Clark to average 15 attempts per game. I’m not defending her percentage. It’s not respectable.

Clark is only averaging 12 shots per game. She’s not a chucker.

Supreme Court rules President is immune for “official acts”

I would give the same advice to posters on both the left and right. It’s about those people who don’t want to talk and never want to be anything except right. The people who feel like they have something to win in this forearm. And there are people like that from both sides.

Supreme Court rules President is immune for “official acts”

With a lot of people it’s all facile generalizations, figure eight arguments, thought-terminating cliches. You really should stop engaging. I mean it sincerely. You’re literally throwing away little bits and pieces of your life with people who don’t want to ever use the phrase “I could be wrong” or “There might be some truth in what you’re saying.”

Supreme Court rules President is immune for “official acts”

But these hypotheticals are so outrageous that I can’t take the argument seriously. I mean no offense to you— you’re not the only person saying stuff like this. This is what’s known as a thought-terminating argument.

Supreme Court rules President is immune for “official acts”

Disclaimer: I def have not read this whole thread Why wouldn’t we want the president to have immunity for official acts of office? That seems like a given. I think people are overreacting to this. Take Trump’s recent hush money convictions as an example. That’s not an official act of office in any way. I see he plans on trying to get that overturned on the basis of this Supreme Court ruling, but I doubt that happens. That’s something he did that had nothing to do with acting on behalf of America.
  10. First time meeting her. I hate her. TIA
  11. Writing from Indiana, where he was drafted. He’s not a winning player.
  12. We both need to work harder— solidarity!
  13. There is nothing wrong with it grammatically and it’s the briefest way to state the situation. Perhaps I could have gone with “The mother of my daughter’s girlfriend” I’ll try harder next time.
  14. Her girlfriend isn’t the M&M! It’s the girlfriend’s mom. Blech!
  15. This seems more on-brand for you. But don’t sweat coming up with something productive to say about my situation. I was basically just complaining like a little btch about this contemptible woman I had to host at my crib for 3 hours.
  16. Um, dude. Please check yourself a little. I’ve always been quite respectful to you, despite this being the GC and all. I’ve expected my daughter to be gay since she was about 5 so she wasn’t brainwashed into anything. She’s also one of the most levelheaded people I know. She’s not susceptible to antifa or Hamas support or anything of the like. Certainly she’s not predatory. I don’t appreciate those comments from you.

    June 27 Presidential debate

Why bother watching when we know both guys are just going to utter one after another facile generalizations and thought-terminating cliches?
  20. A really fun thing to do is listen to covers of Pumpkins songs on Spotify. It highlights two things amazingly: how great the songs are and how terrible Billy Corgan’s vocals are. ETA: there is a playlist called PUMPKINHEADS. Give it a try.
  21. Jeez, Bush and STP weren’t even legit. They were corporate hack-shills. Fakes. PJ, AIC, Soundgarden, Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins (although they weren’t really my thing). If you consider Radiohead grunge, they have a very, very strong argument for #2 overall. In fact, it’d be hard to argue against them as #1 if you have them in that genre. Their first 3 releases were all exceptional and the 2nd and 3rd were better than the previous one. That’s so rare. I also just want to mention Dinosaur Jr.

    Pearl Jam

Saw them in 1993 at Elliot Hall on the campus of Purdue University for $10. Played 3 hours and it was fantastic. I was 19 at the time. Ten resonated with me because of my very rocky childhood and homelife and things I had in common with Vedder Re: fathers. I now know those aren’t uncommon issues but, at the time, I didn’t personally know anyone who had that thing in common with me. Nice talking with you.

Wow, I’ve never heard that take. I certainly know people who like that period for them, but no one who considers it their peak. I think the CW is 1991-1995, but it takes all kinds to make the world go ‘round.

    Pearl Jam

You’ve nailed it. Ten is an enduring classic and Vs was quite good. But then they lost their edge as life became comfortable. Vedder’s best songwriting happened before he had the benefit of counseling and therapy. Ten would be a masterpiece if not for Jeremy.
