Much as I would like to agree with you I just can’t. I’ve seen plenty of women flippantly walk away from a committed husband because they were bored or felt like they missed out on something or hoped for greener pastures.

You side with the wife because you assume to know what she went through? What she went through? Because divorce only happens when a man makes a woman go through something? So stupid. The world is full of divorced men who had cheating whores or gold-digging skanks or restless short-sighted hags for wives. And generally they still lose half. Women are almost exclusively selfish, dishonest, manipulative filth who are generally more to blame for divorce than men are.

I have no time to rabbit hole in data banks, so I just won’t comment on increase/decrease/reporting/gathering. But if the gist of this thread is an “it’s Biden’s fault/it’s not Biden’s fault” debate, then I’m comfortable saying I doubt any increase can be directly attributed to Biden.

It seems to have steadily increased since 2000. It seems like it has been increasing more markedly since 2020, but that might just be my perception or reflect a change in media coverage. The past year concerns me less than the totality of the last 25-ish and I think that’s a better conversation.

I’d label myself conservative, although some people here wouldn’t agree with that if they knew me well enough. So, I give myself as an example. However, because of how toxic everything gets here, I almost never wade into the political threads, so maybe I wouldn’t count. And as I said before, why spar with anyone who just insults, derides, ridicules etc? Just don’t engage. You’re only hurting yourself that way.

You asked before how meaningful discourse is possible, so I’ll point out this post as the opposite of fostering genuine conversation. Don’t interpret this as a personal attack. You’ll find I really don’t do that here. I’m merely pointing out that if you think you have important observations about issues in our country, you’ll fail to make them known to others with this approach. You do your part and hope they’ll do theirs. As Michael Jackson sang “I’m starting with the man in the mirror.”

Well, you do your part and hope that they do theirs. If that fails, you have to say “We just disagree” and walk away. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. It helps to acknowledge that hardly anything is strictly black and white and acknowledge the nuances at play. And to never be unwilling to say “I was wrong.”

I assistant coached girls bball with teams grades 3-7. The girls were not nearly as athletic as the boys, for sure and obviously. However, there was and is an astounding lack of fundamental skill for both genders. The boys, however, masked that with athleticism. The girls just couldn’t mask it and were painful to watch at that age. When a girl with shot form, FT form or ball handling came on the court she looked like MJ compared to the other girls.

The problem with comparing eras in basketball is the evolution of officiating, the FT rate and the 3 point shot. I think Clark has over 500 made 3 point FGs. I enjoy watching basketball, mostly HS and NCAA, but it’s a fundamentally flawed sport. It’s impossible to officiate objectively and that will always doom its credibility.
