You always present as a reasonable guy, props on that. Consider the complaint of misgendering. The modern construct of gender identity is conceptual at best. Yet, gender fluid people insist that they choose their gender and accompanying pronouns and also insist that others conform to their choice of gender and pronouns, even in the face of contrary physical attributes. Imagine anything else purely conceptual— I’ll use religion here just to stick with something that’s really in the popular domain. Suppose that Christians collectively decided their pronoun would be The Saved. Or all Muslims decided their pronoun would be The Preferred. And they insisted that anytime not being called by proper first name, they were only to be called The Saved or The Preferred. Non-Christians and Non-Muslims would be right in resisting that. So it can also be regarding elective gender labels. Both religion and gender fluidity are objectively conceptual. It is not incumbent on the general public to oblige these whims or preferences.
