    I have a sister I've never met

I don't know if she knows about me. If she knows about her father, I don't know if she is aware that he died in 1993. She'd have been 12 at the time.
  2. If I like this song, what're some other songs I will probably like? As rap goes, this song is pretty fun to listen to.

    Today is cyber monday

I bought my wife a set of Stella Artois beer glasses yesterday on Ebay. Stella!
  5. I was diagnosed with strep throat Saturday, but went back to the doctor yesterday because I wasn't substantially better. The doctor told me that strep throat is a weakling among infections and should normally be kicked in the nutz by antibiotics in 24-48 hours. When I went for the follow up he dropped the "mono" bomb on me, telling me I have all the symptoms of mono, but wanting to switch my antibiotics since i had tested positive for strep. If I'm not over it after the holiday, he'll test me for strep. I'm not feeling optimistic about being over it by then since its just as bad today as yesterday, with the headaches and sleepiness and mild fevers and sore throat. Who here has dealt with mono in the past and what was your experience?

    Any Geeks ever had mononucleosis?

I know about that easy mono test-- its called the Monospot or something. I was feeling so crappy when I was at his office that it didn't occur to me that he was telling me to come back so that he could milk the insurance company for another office visit. Typical answer I've been reading on the net is that majority of symptoms persist for a month or so.

I just bought a Playstation 3 at Bestbuy

Yeah, I know some guys in Philly who "found" a skid of these that had fallen off a truck. With no means for identifying the rightful owners, they claimed the units for themselves. Because these guys are like family to me, I was given a good price on 10 of 'em, which I immediately listed up on Ebay. If any of you are interested in a good deal, let me know because they're going to find another lost shipment on Sunday.
  8. It appears that some black guy was talking during the show and Richards started giving him sht about it and it led to him shouting at the heckler "He's a nhigger! He's a nhigger!" What the heck is that all about? Dang.

PS-- they don't just give out jobs as as park rangers to schmucks who can't do anything else. Those jobs are tough to land and you need a conservation and natural resources degree to get consideration. But, he could get a job with the park service. You might try that.
  10. I once did a telephone interview with Glen Phillips of Toad The Wet Sprocket. Also have met him and the other members of the band a few times and they are among the nicest individuals ever. Met the drummer for a band called Luce. He drummed for Counting Crows during their heyday. Met Morris Dees, founder of the Southern Poverty Law Center, who is famous in legal circles for representing blacks pro bono in suits against the KKK. He won a number of high profile cases in which judges awarded black families KKK held properties. Crassic. My wife sat in the row right in front of Jamie Lee Curtis on a flight from Chile to Texas once. Ms. Curtis spoke to my wife to apologize for the fact that her son was kicking the back of the seats. My wife told her "Why don't you give him some benadryl? That calms down my dog when he travels." Met this chick named Nina who was one of the co-frontwomen of Veruca Salt. I tried to talk to her but she obviously thought I was a dork and blew me off. I was hoping to bang her. Met Peyton Manning at a Pacers game following his rookie year. He was sitting courtside and all these Pacers players kept coming up to him. At first we didn't know who it was, but when I figured it out I simply walked down and tapped him on the shoulder. He autographed something, but had very little interest in talking to me. Why talk to MLCKAA when Reggie Miller wants to chat you up? Also met just about every Pacers player of the last 15 years, including Ron Ron. Best ever was meeting Rik Smits.

Through Americorps he can get involved in all kinds of things, not just education related areas. There are programs that deal with environmental issues, homelessness, child abuse...you name it. And the nice thing about Americorps is that you don't have to apply for a program in your state. He can look at anything around the country and they'll consider his application. I strongly debated over entering an environmental clean-up program in Detroit back in 1998. Knowing what I do now about Detroit, I sure am glad I stayed in Indiana! ETA: I am sure the living stipend and tuition voucher have been adjusted in the last 8 years.

OK. Serious response. I did this in 1998 The whole thing was relatively new at that time. Over the course of 10 months I did 900 jours of community service in a program called 21st Century Scholars. We tutored kids, arranged for tutors in subjects we couldn't handle, organized community service projects for them, took them on college campus tours, et cetera. When I was finished I got a $2500.00 tuition voucher for use at any accredited college, university or trade school in the US of A. Also, while completing the 900 hours I got a living stipend of about $250/month. Americorps might be a good way for this dude to figure out some goals and get some direction.

Who would win in a fight?

There can be no doubt that Sesame Street would win. Here is all the info you need for proof.
  16. I don't disagree. Sin is sin. You have to call an apple an apple. I think homosexuality is a big mystery to a lot of people because people have a hard time understanding why it is a sin. Most sins have very obvious negative effects on others or on self. It is tougher to point out the negative repercussions of homosexuality. There are STDs, sure, but heterosexuals get those, too. Regardless, I don't disagree with the point you made.
  17. Just as there are Muslims and Islamists, there are Christians and Chistianists. The -isters hijack parts of a religion, just the select tenets that suit their needs, and they use those limited parts of the religion for political purposes. Why does God say that homosexuality is bad? I dunno. But I do know that no one is without sin and all sins are equal. To say that one sin is worse than another trivializes the grace He bestowed upon us-- the undeserved gift of salvation-- since the crucifixion was the symbolic sacrifice for ALL sins. Every man and woman on this planet is equally undeserving which means that no man is in a position of judgement over another.
  18. This demonstrates the power of the Lord to work in the lives of many people through just one dude. People who supported Haggard are now being forced to examine their attitudes toward gays. Hopefully they recognize that as Christians we should be non-judging and treat everyone with love. Such is the core message of Jesus Christ. Go Jesus!
  19. I have just found that one of my health insurance options through work includes no employee contribution toward the premium. Of course, this low end plan comes with higher out of pocket expenses when you need health care, but it has the same deductible and Out Of Pocket maximum as all other plans I could choose. The main difference is in office visit & specialist charges, prescription coverage and the percentage of coverage up to OOP maximum. This is the first time I've ever had an employer offer a plan that required no employee contribution on the premium.

    Sexual Stamina

Funny thing about me is that on my FIRST go at it I'm good for about 4 strokes. However, 5 minutes later I can start right back up and not get to orgasm again if I pumped all night. Oddly enough, jacking off at some point during the day does NOTHING to stall the quick first shot if my wife and I hook up later in the day. So, even though it is my second orgasm of the day, it is still my first intercourse and my body knows it. Clearly its a psychological issue and not a physiological one. Stranger still is the fact that a BJ or h@ndjob can take 15+ minutes. Stupid c0ck of mine.

    The NBA is unwatchable.

One must admit, though, that it was pretty entertaining when the Indiana Pacers squad beat the pizz outta the entire faagiddy Pistons fanbase that one time...
  24. There's more to it than this alone. Don't forget that he also hates his wife, thinks about cheating on her and beats homeless ladies on the subway.
