General Studies. Lame, I know. I was a political science major and criminal justice minor when I started. But when I returned to finish a while back, the 7 classes needed to finish that major was too many since I knew I could only manage 1 class per semester. The GS degree only required 3 more classes. I attended full time for 2 years and then part time for 4 years. Challenging to put yourself through college, though I know people do it. I took an internship and at the end was offered a FT job. I was tired of struggling and being dirt poor and I’d met my future wife, so I took the job. 2.5 years ago my daughter started attending the same University and it inspired me to finish my degree. She’s completing her bachelor’s in 3 years, graduating May ‘25, which tells you she’s way more driven than I was. Then again, she didn’t have to pay her own way.

Basketball is fun to play and can sometimes be fun to watch, but it is a fundamentally flawed game that is truly impossible to officiate. I agree with everything you said here, but hoping for better is a fool’s errand. It cannot be effectively officiated without significant rule changes and at least one additional official, maybe 2.

So, I’m a wannabe home chef. My cooking is def above average. I make everything from scratch. As I’ve aged I find that I get drunk more often when cooking than any other time. Far cry from the days of intentionally getting blitzed on the weekend.

I follow Damaris Phillips, as much for her chefing as wanting to mate with her, and I take ideas from Nadia G and Natasha’s Kitchen. With NK I often tweak her recipes to put my own spin on things. ETA: also the perfect Molly Yeh…
