    Watched every episode over the last few weeks. Had never even known anything about it other than it's title.

    I won't deny it was a great show, but I can't remember a show where every single leading and supporting character was consistently such a despicable, ugly human throughout a whole series.

    Loved the fact that it was set in New Mexico though.

    Yeah a lot of muy loco hombres

  2. The problem with the QB contracts is you had some guys that were great and got paid, and then you had a lot of guys that were pretty good and got paid about 80-90% as much, when in reality their salary cap value compared to the greats should be probably half or less. Teams aren't good at admitting that the QB marketed as the face of their franchise isn't a top 10 (let alone top 5) difference-making type guy, and shouldn't be paid as such. That's why Dak is more likely to get $35M from the Cowboys than he is to go out on the market and get more than the $30Mish you (correctly, in my opinion) think his worth maxes out at.

    The Raiders do hold the distinction of being the only team to beat the Chiefs in their last 25 contests or so (not counting the obvious Week 17 tank).

    The Raiders also kept their old rivals the Steelers out of the playoffs by beating the Steelers something like 3 or 4 times in Roethlisberger's career. Fat lot of good it did the Raiders though. You can't judge a team by just their 1 or 2 or 3 best games in the regular season. They are a mediocre football team that has squandered 6 1st round picks in the last 3 years and doesn't have real upside.

    the unity biden speaks of is between the democrats and the 40-50 million illegals biden will give the vote to.  biden just needs to open the floodgates of immigration and send them all mail in ballots.  the democrats will never lose an election again.

    i dont think it has really dawned on many here what it means for biden to be president.  he will fundamentally change the US demographics so that republicans can't win.  i went over this many times before over the years.  the democrats rely on second generation latino voters.  third generation americans and beyond skew republican.  that means the democrats need to keep opening the floodgates wider and wider to stay in power.  they are about to flood the US with so many illegals and give them the vote that everything is about to change.

    It means Biden is putting an end to the daily combative Twitter/presser/rally circus that Trump was running. It doesn't mean policy that is equally liked by both parties. The impeachment is also unrelated because that's not up to Biden.

    Don't think this trade would happen at all.Yes they gave away Hopkins and look what it cost them. Management needs to get their head outta the keister and get Watson help at the skill positions. It's not on Watson it's on the organization to put people around him so they can be successful. I'd almost bet JJ Watt  is done with Houston and will either get traded or retire.                                                             They need talent at all the skill positions (rb,wr,te). They have Fuller but that's not nearly enough. D. Johnson's not the long term answer at rb and they definitely need to try and get a knockout te. All the good teams have pretty good te's so I think they really need to address that position in the draft.            They're not gonna get everything they need in one year but if they can show Watson they are.going to get him talent to work with he'll stay. Hate to see them waste HIS talent.

    The Texans need help not so much at skill positions but at offensive line.

    I got closer to 19 mph.

    1 in. = 0.5 x 386.4 in/s^2 x t^2 => t = 0.072

    If the apex of the trajectory is halfway through the pipe, then you have 2" of drop to work with, not just 1".

    2 in = 0.0508m = 0.5 x 386.4 in/s^2 x t^2 => t = 0.102s

    Which means 24" / .102s = 24" * (.0254 m per inch) / .102s = 5.98 m/s * 2.24 mph / (m/s) = 13.4 mph, not counting for air resistance or the extra 0.07" of leeway, obviously.

  7. Dear CBS, FU for requiring people with a TV provider to also have a subscription to CBS All Access in order to access CBS NFL games online away from home. 👎

    (FOX, NBC, ESPN, and ABC all have apps/websites which work as long as you just log into a regular provider.)

    I don't know why they think he's the problem, but okay.

    Hopefully we'll get to see how good he is on a team that isn't a complete mess every year

    It's not that he's the problem. It's that he's not the solution. By the time the Lions get things sorted out Stafford will be too old.

    Best thing the chiefs have going for them is they seem to be drafting well and veteran players will want to play here at reduced rate to get that ring.

    Ding ding ding. You don't get that with a Derek Carr at QB, with a mediocre QB you only get free agents who couldn't get more money elsewhere. The Raiders have done everything they can to build that offense and they barely have a top 10 offense to show for it. That's not enough to overcome the defensive liabilities incurred by building the team that way.

  10. Good riddance. Immature person for an NFL QB, consistently failed in the clutch for someone who is highly regarded, and has way too damn many kids. If he makes the HOF it will just make the Hall more of a joke.

    I planted some garlic last week.  It is already growing.  I figure that I will get some garlic scapes in the spring and then some home grown garlic.  It's a thrill every day.

    We planted some garlic and shallots in the late fall as well, and they are sprouting. 👍

  12. Opinion | Trump Ignites a War Within the Church - The New York Times (nytimes.com) - new article on the topic from NYT conservative columnist David Brooks

    ...

    On the one hand, there are those who are doubling down on their Trump fanaticism and their delusion that a Biden presidency will destroy America.

    ...

    Quote

    ...

    On the other hand, many Trump supporters have been shaken to the core by the sight of a sacrilegious mob blasting Christian pop music and chanting “Hang Mike Pence.” There have been defections and second thoughts. The Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, who delivered a prayer at the Trump inaugural, told his congregation Sunday, “We must all repent, even the church needs to repent.”

    ...

    Quote

    ...

    One core feature of Trumpism is that it forces you to betray every other commitment you might have: to the truth, moral character, the Sermon on the Mount, conservative principles, the Constitution. In defeat, some people are finally not willing to sacrifice all else on Trump’s altar.
