    Happy August 1st

Probably because you are a Giants fan... (I kid...) Just watch how the other coaches do and if you think you can do a better job next season, step up and volunteer... I watched my son play basketball for three seasons and just complained to my wife about the coaching and what they did at practices and during the games... The following year, I stepped into a head coaching position and we won the championship (drafted well and found playing rotations that worked really well...) He played one more year and was no longer into it, but that was fun coaching...
  3. https://deadline.com/2025/08/a-quiet-place-part-iii-john-krasinski-1236476483/ The big eared, noise-sensitive aliens are invading Earth again with John Krasinski announcing A Quiet Place Part III, which is scheduled to hit theaters on July 9, 2027. The 4x Primetime Emmy nominated multi-hyphenate just unveiled the news on social media that he’s back to direct, write and produce the fourth film in the Paramount series. No cast is confirmed at this time with the story being kept secret. Krasinski and Allyson Seeger’s Sunday Night Productions are producing with Platinum Dunes. Sunday Night has a first-look deal with the studio. The A Quiet Place franchise has grossed over $900 million worldwide across its three films, which is comprised John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place Part II, and the Michael Sarnoski directed spin-off A Quiet Place: Day One. The first A Quiet Place took off like a rocketship at SXSW back in 2018, leading to an overindexing $50.2M opening, near $153M domestic, and near $341M global take. The pic, which starred Krasinski, wife Emily Blunt, Noah Jupe and Millicent Simmonds received an Oscar nomination for Sound Editing. A Quiet Place Part II, which saw its release pushed due to Covid, brought the box office back alive during Memorial Day weekend 2021 with a $57M 4-day start, and $160M domestic, $297.3M haul. Blunt, Jupe, and Simmonds returned for the sequel which nabbed a BAFTA nomination for Best Sound. Last summer, A Quiet Place: Day One, a prequel set in an apocalyptic New York City ravaged by the aliens and starring Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn, debuted to $52.2M and legged out to $139M domestic and $262M global.

    MLB 2025

Trading deadlines aren't fun, when the team you root for doesn't do much, if anything... AA hasn't been right, IMO, since the season ended last year... Signing players to minor league contracts and then throwing money at Profar after doing his Jeff Blauser impression last year... Of course all the injuries don't help, but who knows if even a healthy Braves team would have made noise...

VIDEO: https://www.foxnews.com/video/6376373478112 https://www.foxnews.com/world/amusement-park-ride-snaps-saudi-arabia-park-reported-injured An amusement park ride malfunction in Saudi Arabia has reportedly left 23 people injured, with three critically hurt. Video of the incident shows the ride with "360 degrees" written atop it swinging back and forth before the arm with the spinning wheel carrying passengers snapped off the frame of the ride. Riders can be heard screaming as they plunge to the ground. It happened on Wednesday at Green Mountain Park in Taif, Saudi Arabia, according to reports. Eyewitnesses said they saw riders had been injured even though they were strapped into their seats at the time of the fall. The central pole recoiled quickly, which also led to injuries, the witnesses said. The amusement park ride involved in the injury accident in Saudi Arabia swings back and forth in a pendulum style. (East2West) Injured people were given first aid at the scene before being rushed to the hospital, reports said. An investigation into what happened is underway, and the ride is cordoned off, The Sun reported. Riders could be heard screaming the moment the pole snapped off the mainframe of the 360 Degree ride on July 30, 2025. (East2West) Green Mountain Park is not the only establishment to have ride problems in recent months. Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, has been experiencing malfunctions on its new "Siren's Curse" ride, as riders have been left stuck several times. Riders can be seen on the ground as the ride's central pole recoils. (East2West) Last October, terrifying video out of Ecuador captured two gondola cars detaching from a high-flying amusement park ride and crashing, leaving ten people injured, including six critically, at a traveling fairground.

  16. https://www.billboard.com/music/music-news/paul-mario-day-dead-obituary-1236033114/ Paul Mario Day, the English vocalist best known for his role as the original singer of metal icons Iron Maiden, has passed away at the age of 69. Day’s tenure with the early Iron Maiden lineup was short-lived, having been recruited by bassist Steve Harris to join the band in late 1975. The band’s initial lineup lasted only for ten months, with Day exiting the group following claims he lacked both energy and charisma. “When I sang in Iron Maiden, it was a new pub band and nobody wanted to see or hear them,” Day later recalled of his time in the group. “We were all nobodys all trying to make the best music we could and fighting for an audience.” Though a live member with no recorded output to his name, Day was replaced by Dennis Wilcock who himself a short-lived member of the group, lasting only until 1978 without appearing on any recorded material. Wilcock was later replaced by Paul Di’Anno, who performed on the band’s first two albums before being succeeded by longtime vocalist Bruce Dicksinson. Iron Maiden’s self-titled 1980 debut album also contained the track “Strange World,” which Day later claimed he had co-written without being properly credited. “Back then we were all pulling for the same side and it still hurts to think the first-ever song I ever composed was on a big-selling album and nobody knows it was me,” he said. In 2019, however, Day asserted the issue of co-authorship was “finished with,” adding that “everything’s fine as far as that’s concerned.” Following his brief stint with Iron Maiden, Day also fronted the groups More and Wildfire, before joining a reformed version of English glam rockers Sweet as their lead vocalist alongside guitarist Andy Scott and drummer Mick Tucker. “In 1985 Mick Tucker and myself put together the first new line-up of Sweet after the hiatus of the original band,” Scott wrote in a tribute post shared to Facebook. “We needed a singer and when Paul arrived for the audition we looked no further. “Our first dates were in Australia, total sell-outs which boded well for the future. Europe followed suit and 3 sold out nights at the Marquee in London produced a live album, video and DVD. Live at the Marquee did well in various charts around the world and Paul’s vocal performance has stood the test of time.” “Paul was a huge part of the NWOBHM [New Wave of British Heavy Metal] from his time in an early version of Iron Maiden and of course his fantastic performance on the Warhead album,” a social media statement from More said of Day’s legacy. “He was a well loved figure in British rock music and played many memorable shows not least the legendary 1981 Monsters of Rock show at Castle Donington with AC/DC, Whitesnake/David Coverdale as well as tours with Iron Maiden, Def Leppard and many other legendary artists.” Day relocated to Australia in the ’80s, where he continued to operate as an active musician until his passing. “My deepest condolences to his wife Cecily and family and friends,” Scott added in his post. “A sad day for all Sweet fans.”

    2025 College Football

I would love them to be really competitive in the Big 12 at least, but like you said White/Slaton would be a huge plus, along with Stedman/Tavon types on the outside… I just know after the crap with Neal Brown at the helm, anything has to be better…
