https://www.tmz.com/2024/10/01/good-times-star-john-amos-dead/ John Amos, who led "Good Times" as patriarch James Evans, has died ... his son Kelly Christopher Amos announced. Per John's son, the Emmy-nominated actor died in Los Angeles back on Aug. 21 from natural causes. He continued ... "It is with heartfelt sadness that I share with you that my father has transitioned. He was a man with the kindest heart and a heart of gold… and he was loved the world over. Many fans consider him their TV father. He lived a good life. His legacy will live on in his outstanding works in television and film as an actor." In addition to his work in "Good Times," John was known for playing Gordy the Weatherman on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and for portraying older Kunta Kinte on "Roots" -- which earned him an Emmy nomination at the 29th Emmy Awards. Fans of "The West Wing" will also recognize John for his recurring role as Admiral Percy Fitzwallace ... acting opposite Martin Sheen and the late John Spencer during its 7-season run. John is survived by his daughter, Shannon, and son, K.C., who he welcomed with ex-wife Noel Mickelson. The actor's children found themselves at odds last year, when they disagreed over his medical care and threw elder abuse allegations at one another ... prompting multiple investigations by the authorities -- but they were eventually closed due to lack of evidence. K.C. was arrested back in July amid the sibling spat ... after allegedly making threats against Shannon's life. Back in December, John was hopeful that his estranged family would work through their issues ... though, he repeatedly denied being a victim of elder abuse. He was 84. RIP

I lived outside of Pittsburgh for two years when I started working in the mid-90s… This is a much better take on the matter…. I guess because I rarely ventured into the city, Pittsburghians were just arseholes because of just living in hell…

And Marshall lost theirs for a bit as well, but those were only one plane, not the two that was mentioned…

Pittsburgh is disgusting…

https://tvline.com/news/dream-on-hbo-tv-show-streaming-online-watch-free-episodes-1235345308/ Nearly 30 years since its series finale, and a quarter century since it last saw the light of day, HBO’s Dream On is at last available to stream. All six seasons of the beloved sitcom have quietly surfaced on the ad-supported Roku Channel, which is accessible via the Roku app and TheRokuChannel.com — free of charge. Co-created by Marta Kauffman and David Crane (Friends), Dream On centered on divorced New York City book editor Martin Tupper (played by Private Practice’s Brian Benben). The show famously interjected clips from old black-and-white TV shows to better illustrate Tupper’s thoughts and feelings. Wendie Malick (Just Shoot Me), Chris Demetral (Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman), Dorien Wilson (The Parkers), Denny Dillon (Women in Prison), Michael McKean (Better Call Saul) and Renée Taylor (The Nanny) co-starred. The series first premiered on July 8, 1990, and ended March 27, 1996. All told, 120 episodes were produced. After it ended, a sanitized version of the show, minus the language and nudity, aired in syndication on Comedy Central — but only until 1999. Meanwhile, only the first two seasons have been released on DVD.

Being in hospice as long as he has been, I am kind of surprised he made it to 100…. Even after his wife passed almost a year ago…
