I wanted to add this... It was her first game her senior year and it was a road game that was some 3.5 to 4 hours north of her college... We didn't go to the game because we live 1.5 hours south of her college, so that would be a long drive for a mid-week game... We were watching the game stream when it happened... Absolutely nothing we could do as she walked off the field... We had no contact with anyone until after the game was over... It was the longest hour of my life, waiting to hear anything... The trainer suggested a trip to the ER, so when they were about 90 minutes away from college on the charter bus, I left to go the college to get her.... They pulled in at 1am ET and it was off to the hospital... Finally got back home around 6am... But like I said, no issues, just a huge knot on her forehead...

Almost had my daughter get knocked unconscious in college in a field hockey game... She was about seven or so yards away on a free hit and the opponent drove the ball, it elevated and hit her square in the forehead... She dropped like a tree, but never lost consciousness... In fact, she never was even concussed, she passed all the tests at the emergency room... Just a little lower or to the side and she could have had brain damage or even lost her life... She still wanted to go back into the game...
