I was waiting for the Rays new stadium before taking a trip there for a game but of course they have abandoned those plans due to the hurricane damage to the Trop <_<.

I'm sure there are some duds but I also assume there are enough cool, unique or historic ones to make it worth doing and to say you went to them all.   I've heard Colorado is fantastic, I know Boston and Baltimore are. Wrigley has to be. San Fran also seems like a cool one if you can sit in right field with the cove behind you.  Athletics in Vegas will probably be nice.

PNC Park supposedly has an incredible view of downtown Pittsburgh, but I don't know if you can see that from the outfield...

The wife and I are trying to visit every MLB park.

That would be cool, but as expensive tickets are and everything else, it isn't worth it now...

I have found that all the changes MLB made to speed up the game for TV viewership and people with adhd has taken away from the experience of being there live. You need a lot of hits and scoring to make it worth the price of tickets/commute/stadium beers.  If the weather is nice, I want to enjoy the game for 3-4 hours.

Been saying this forever...  The pitch clock makes the game worse IMO...

We're going to the DBacks/Royals game this Friday, and there is a fireworks show after the game.  We've done that a few times.

Historically, we would often go to a small town in the Yoop of Michigan to visit family.  My inlaws had a nice place on a lake, and their next door neighbor used to put $15K+ into a massive display.  Several other houses on the lake went all out as well -- it was like a re-enactment of the Star Spangled Banner battle.  :D

They've since sold the house, and while we are going up to the same city for a family get together, it's not until the week after the 4th, so we won't see any up there this year.

While I occasionally got the $50 box for the kids when they were younger, I guess I've convinced myself that I prefer to let others do the work.

At least the fan that likes to get thrown out won't be there...

Devers goes to the Giants and he is putting up early Red Sox numbers.

54 at bats, 23 strikeouts.   Yuck

Back in the old days, could blame it on the switching of leagues...

Schwellenbach has fractured elbow, lands on injured list

    https://www.mlb.com/news/spencer-schwellenbach-fractured-elbow

The Braves lost a key piece of their rotation on Wednesday when they placed right-hander Spencer Schwellenbach on the 15-day injured list with a fractured right elbow.

Schwellenbach's most recent start in a dominant sophomore season was perhaps the best of his career: a career-high 12 strikeouts over seven innings of one-run ball against the division-rival Phillies on Saturday. Schwellenbach and the Braves made no mention of any concerns with the right-hander's elbow following that start.

Schwellenbach, 25, has gone 7-4 with a 3.09 ERA in 17 starts this year.

Might as well starting selling off...  The injuries again...

93 abs is  decent sample size but considering it looks like KC may miss the playoffs this year, let the kid play a while longer.   See if he adjusts better to MLB pitching.

That would be the only plus, but for a team that made the playoffs last year, I would think the fans would not be happy about becoming sellers at the deadline...

If they are going to keep him in the lineup, move him down in the order until he starts producing, but I would still send him down to at least try to get the confidence back where things are working...

Yes and reading it as it is today I really wish I could again, so much goes on here that has no benefit. Seeing what handles are assigned to what IP addy would eliminate all these alias from people that got banned.

But alas, these are different times and this is a different place

Yeah too bad you couldn't give the enema this board really needs, like you said...

  9. https://www.tmz.com/2025/07/02/adult-film-star-kylie-page-dead-suspected-overdose/

Adult-film star Kylie Page has died in Los Angeles from a suspected overdose, TMZ can confirm.

Kylie died on June 25 ... she was found in her Hollywood residence after a concerned friend called law enforcement to check in on her, police sources tell us.

Unfortunately, when the fire department arrived at the scene, she was pronounced dead. We're told officers found fentanyl and drug paraphernalia in her home ... as well as sexual photos of her with different men scattered around the apartment.

An official cause of death has not been confirmed ... but law enforcement tells TMZ her death is a suspected overdose, and foul play is not thought to be involved.

The film star -- real name Kylie Pylant -- was born in Tulsa, Okla. and found success in the adult entertainment business, working with big-name companies such as Vixen Media and Canadian porn website Brazzers.

Her family has set up a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses and transporting her body "home from California to the Midwest."

The fundraising page reads ... "This GoFundMe isn’t just about funeral expenses. It’s about bringing Kylie home. It’s about helping her family breathe through the shock, the grief, and the unimaginable reality they’re living in."

    She was 28 years old.

    RIP

Yes, I am proud to be American. I always have been, even as a child. I am one of those that gets weepy when the National Anthem is sung or played

I could see that if it is done properly and beautifully, however, there have been many that have tried to make it their own and it was disgusting...

  11. Jac Caglianone should be demoted with his numbers:  .151 AVG, .449 OPS, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 21 K in 93 AB

I can understand keeping him in the lineup, but with him still there, that would seem to me that the Royals are raising the white flag for the season...

I can understand that, but that is just something I never have wanted to do...
