Fiscal Year? I’m confused

Now my Dad who’s 79, is much less DOW and S&P market heavy and in way less riskier investments or Cash.

I haven’t changed my 401k or ROTH in many years. Ups and downs, ebbs and flows. Some of the hiveminded hysteria I’m seeing is crazy. R-E-L-A-X

But why not? We just accept this and ask no further questions? Yes the iPhone can be manufactured in Ohio. And consumers can purchase it for around the same price. The CEO, CFO, COO and the Executive board will make 25% less in salary and bonus.

Again, I am not a Global Macro Economic Tariff specialist, however what I do know is the U S of A is in massive debt. So lets do something different? Call me crazy....

It just hit me, the title of this thread. People disagreeing and having a conversation like @Gepetto and I are doing is not some stupid MAGA vs MAHA WAR!@#! It's adults having a conversation and figuring things out. That's what Congress and the Senate whom are elected Representatives are supposed to do, unfortunately they act like the original poster of this thread and seek nothing but division and low IQ nonsense.

No there will not be riots. I really hate how these stories divide people, but at the same time I get it....the media reports stories differently based on DEI which of course people take issue. The whole thing stinks. I do not know the whole story but a dude at a HS track meet stabbing a guy to death doesn't sound good. Hopefully the Justice System prevails.

This is not high on my give a shiot list. But SNAP is a government funded safety net program to help the poor feed themselves, right? Is that not the safety net purpose? Beer, Cigs, Mountain Dew, and Skittles don't fit into the root purpose of the program to me. Also they are crazy bad for your health which then the poor who are more than likely on Medicaid continue with poor choices. I am 100% for freedom of choice, but when you accept government monies you waive that right to just do what you want with those monies. No?

Fair question, and that's the rub. I know this goes against everything Geek Club, but I don't know. Wouldn't it be nice if Apple or Nike.... invest in America? Their EBITIDA would probably be the same, but the Executives take home would take a hit.

I know very little about SNAP or food stamps. However I believe it to be a government paid safety net to help the less fortunate get basic food to feed themselves and/or their family. I am assuming you cannot purchase alcohol and cigarettes with the cards. If so I see no reason to add Sodas and Candy to the list. None of those have nutritional value. What am I missing?

Disclaimer: I am not a global macro-economic professional unlike all of you. The US has the largest Trade Deficit in all of the world mainly because manufacturing left America and went abroad (cheap labor, probably inhumane in certain places like Vietnam and China to be fair). If reciprocal tariffs have a short term pain (stock market) but a long term gain (less trade deficit, manufacturing coming back to America, middle class jobs) then I'm for it. Makes common sense to me. I just wish Trump would have staggered these tariff's over time instead of just ripping off the band aid. I think it would've lessened the market reaction. But that's not Trumps style: So be it.

I just remembered my password and signed on to this hell hole and have not read one post in this thread. I'm sure y'all have dissected this to death but I have but one question. Does the U.S. have a higher tariff for imports than any opposing country does to the U.S for exports? If so, which ones? I am genuinely curious.

Has anyone watched his yet? I just finished episode 3 and blown away by 1. How it is filmed, I'm sure there is a cinematic term but the camera follows around the actors then switches scenes without changing location, its very cool. 2. Freaking superb acting, off the charts by essentially everyone, but the main character kid is fantastic in this role. I don't want to give anything away but so far I highly recommend it. It's pretty heavy.
