This part of the world has changed hands many times. Crimea is a good example back in 2014 (Obama Presidency). Small portions of land changing hands over time in Eastern Europe after the old Soviet Union broke up in the early 90's. This is a whole other continent from the United States. Sure the USA has a geo-political interest in any conflict around the world but some of y'all are getting played. I STAND WITH UKRAINE! is just dumb. You stand with the next <insert big thing against Trump>. That's it and frankly, grow the fock up. ETA: Zero US Troops should be on the ground fighting in this. All monies should be allocated and tracked and a peace deal to end this war should be the number one goal. Full stop.

Watch the whole meeting and not just the last two tense minutes of the back and forth. It really puts it in perspective. All Zelensky had to do the other day was show up, shake hands, say "thank you US for all your support", sign the Minerals deal (don't come if you are not planning on doing that), have lunch and that's that. However Zelensky chose not to sign the deal then started lecturing (to the media) of what America IS NOT doing......love or hate Trump he's not going to sit there and take that nor should he. Our Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, has been doing a fantastic job the past two days during interviews laying out exactly what's going on, the history of it all, etc. It is worth the Google search. The U.S. stands behind Ukraine, but that isn't completely unconditional. This administration isn't going to put American troops on the front lines (thank God). This administration isn't going to keep giving copious amounts of dollars without understanding where it is going and without a plan for peace (the war ending). The days of never ending blank checks are over. None of this means the U.S. doesn't support Ukraine but the days of the U.S. getting hustled and bullied are over. Sorry not sorry.

Retirement is overrated. I have no date, or age. I’ve been dumping a percentage of my salary into a 401k and later a ROTH since I was 23 years old. The two companies I’ve worked for both matched 4%. I don’t trust Putin nor Zelensky. Common sense tells me the fact that as soon as a peace agreement is signed the gravy train from the United Stated ends and Zelensky will have to face elections, is most certainly on his mind and affects his decision making. To what extent I’m not sure, but it’s a factor. This guy is no saint. Frankly I find it weird you red blooded Americans blindly trust the guy.

Nothing I said was factually wrong. Zelensky is in year 6 of his 5 year term. Fact. As long as Ukraine is at war there will be no elections and he remains in power. Fact.
