United Healthcare CEO shot, killed in midtown NYC
peenie replied to IGotWorms's topic in The Geek Club
Obamacare would've fixed everything IF we had enacted Universal Healthcare like he wanted, but the Republicans wouldn't allow it so we have this mess. It's better than it was because before there was no healthcare if you had no job to pay for it. -

Maybe some good can come from this tragedy. -
I do not have a problem with him. As a matter of fact, why weren't the other people involved charged? I just feel like he was overzealous. He killed him!!!! Are you serious???? The man is dead because he was choked to death. I really am lost as to why you think it's okay. No one knew of the crazy dude's history of violence! This what you all do, you sift through a person's past to make excuses for the deaths at the hand of crazies like Zimmerman and Goetz and now this guy. A hero would've subdued him and then got a police officer. Six minutes?? That's sick. You can feel when someone has lost their strength to fight. Who was he protecting?? Who had that man attacked?? No one!! Have you ridden NY trains? Weirdos abound, man. He got off, good for him. I'm just not going to sit here and say it was a good thing. Just because OJ wasn't found not-guilty doesn't mean that I think he's innocent. See how that works?

He was mentally ill. It's unfortunate that his life ended this way. I really wish you all had a heart. He had no weapon. He hadn't hurt anyone, not on this day. Yelling is not a crime punishable by death. Yes, it was good he was restrained, but the police, who are plentiful in the subways, should've been utilized.

Remember that time you meant to tweet about the Denver Nuggets but posted the N word instead?

But I am probably older than you. When I grew up people didn't behave that way. Can you even think of a rap song that was made before the 90's that used the n-word? I can't think of any. Run DMC, The Sugar Hill Gang, Salt and Peppa, The Fresh Prince (Will Smith) and Jazzy Jeff, LL Cool J, Kurtis Blow, Busta Rhymes, Big Daddy Kane, Biz Markie, Public Enemy.... Those are who and what black people were like in my day. It's when Snoop Dogg, ICE-T and NWA came out that shifted everything. And what's worse is that rap has become the definition of black people and black culture! It is a part of it, yes. -

I'm looking forward to these next 4 years proving that the left was wrong about the right. -

No, I can't say that because there are black artists, musicians and music producers. But those in control at the top are the ones that make the final decisions. -

They don't use it; the music industry uses it and makes it seem like it's normal. I didn't grow up hearing the word UNTIL it was used in rap, now it's everywhere. But it was pushed on the public. Based on rap, you'd think everyone was gang banger, drug dealer or stripper and everyone speaks like they were raised in the gutter. I was raised in a poor urban in environment and no one spoke the way it's portrayed in rap music or videos. It's an exaggeration or a select group, not the whole of us. -

All this empathy for a man who shot someone to death. I don't think any of you had this much curiosity about Trayvon Martin, who was minding his own business, walking home when question by Zimmerman. -
I am not racist at all. I’m glad that man was strong and subdued him. But, he choked the homeless dude for too a long time and caused his death, period.
-
Oh, thanks, I was unaware.
-
I wasn't there, but I do ride trains and have been riding them since I was a child. Seeing homeless people who are out of their minds saying and doing crazy things is part of the scenery. Crazy homeless people sometimes ask for money, yell, urinate, masturbate, sleep, fall, pass out... So, I likely, wouldn't feel threatened by a homeless man screaming death threats. I would feel frightened if the homeless person attacked me or another person on the train or if he had a weapon. Otherwise, I'd ignore him. I wasn't there and I don't know very much about this case. I do think we should clean up the train stations; they shouldn't be hotels for the homeless and mentally unstable. Riders shouldn't be subject to abuse. I think though...6 minutes is a mighty long time to keep someone in a chokehold, just as 9 minutes is a long time to keep someone's knee on their neck.

No! I asked how to trade coins and cdumb made mean remarks.

I wish you would’ve kept this same energy when people were being rude to me for asking a simple question.

Well after Fact Check, it appears only 1 police officer died and the others committed suicide. I remember the news or 60 minutes claiming that a police officer was beaten to death with an object. I can admit, that I was misinformed. In fact, the police officer died later not on the scene. Still, all their deaths lay at the feet of the rioters, imo. -

Ridiculous and scary. They killed police officers doing their job. I can’t imagine what you think is going to happen in the next 4 years but I doubt you’re getting anything you think you’re going to be getting. -

It’s not about blacks, it’s about society NOT seeing the humanity of the person gunned down. You don’t see because YOU identify with the shooter. By YOU, I mean those in control of the media and news reporting and the majority of people expressing themselves online. I am someone who watched the news relentlessly cover the Central Park jogger rape: rape not murder. Yet, our incoming President, Trump, called for their execution, despite all of them being innocent. We all had to bare months of watching the Nicole Simpson murder trial. People had all sorts of heart wrenching feelings for her murder and no one feels a thing for this man gunned down on right before our eyes. I am only pointing out that had the shooter been black, Muslim or Mexican, I believe the focus would’ve been very different. -

What did Kamala Harris do with the $1.5 billion she raised? She is still asking for cash as some Democrats demand an audit 🚨

I didn't donate, but every single time I watched a video on YouTube, I saw her begging for $5. -

You guys just refuse to think critically. Explain why there isn't more sympathy for the CEO being killed in the street? -

Why would a few sentences you don't agree with on a football site make you hate black people? Clearly you already do. My point is being missed by you. Because the killer looks like the average nice guy, people are blaming the victim.
