Yes and I’m old. I’ll have to work forever. I do have money in my retirement, but not a lot like you guys have, but enough to cover the mortgage.

It’s funny, I was going to buy a house a couple of years ago at an interest rate of 3%, but pulled out because I felt I was significantly overpaying for the house. I got in a bidding war and I felt the house wouldn’t appraise for the value I agreed to pay so I pulled out. If I had only known the housing prices were not only going to continue to go up but the interest rates were going to go up too. Now, I’ve basically got the same price home but double the interest rate. But I needed a home, rent prices were ridiculous ($1900 for 1 bedroom).

Well stay out of Atlanta and Newark. I find the complete opposite is true. Black people work very hard and efficiently in all aspects at the airport. Atlanta is the busiest airport in the WORLD and blacks are doing a fantastic professional hard job of moving people safely around. Even on the flight, Delta is usually mostly black or people of color and….I don’t know what rock you’ve been under, but male flight attendants have always been predominantly gay, since I was a child.

Is autistic just a kinder way of saying retarded? ETA, There are a lot of people who have disabilities (physical and mental) that do housekeeping at my job and they’re great. I think they are very good at their job and add a certain joy to the environment because they tend to be a bit more friendly and kind. I wish that more efforts, like the ones described in the article, were happening to employ these types of people in jobs besides cleaning. I bet there is some untapped talent in many of them.

I mean, like....I believe a lot of people are racist because of ignorance and separation. I think familiarity helps most people reduce their racist thoughts. I think before the 80's, the "majority" would automatically be scared to death, on site, of people who looked like Mike Tyson or 50 cent or Snoop Dogg or Tupac or Shaq...but now, because people know them through the media, I think the "majority" have space to give unfamiliar faces a chance. They aren't just closing the doors on black faces like they used to. Some folks are still ignorant. They don't want their kids associating with black children at all, they won't allow black tv shows in the home. I don't think those people are the majority, but they certainly exist still.
