I think it reflects the thoughts and feelings of the majority in this country. There is anonymity here and so there is a comfort for people to rage freely. I believe in real life most of these people pretend to be accepting and politically correct. Which is scary.

Gay RESIGNED. She was not fired and was NOT found by Harvard (the only opinion that counts) to have plagiarized. She didn’t resign for any other reason but because Harvard was losing endowment money. Harvard’s board investigated these allegations in December and concluded that she did not violate their standards for research. Without specifying which work, the board said that some articles merely required additional citations.

I haven’t read the posts here, nor the articles, I just saw a headline and read some comments elsewhere. From my teeny tiny understanding, she’s been at Harvard for over 20 years. Why hasn’t this issue of plagiarism come up before? Lastly, she wasn’t there to give her own personal opinion but rather Harvard’s stance and apparently she had multiple lawyers telling or advising her what to say and what not to say. I’m glad she resigned.
