If a Dem had the skeletons in the closet that this dude had they wouldn’t get the job for what that’s worth. -

Missed hers but she is typically good in these settings and knows how to hit her marks. What did she spend her time asking him? -

IMO they make some good theater. It is also good for the public to watch how the nom performs and how their representative in Congress acts. Only caught a few questions from this one with Three Sheets Pete but I’d expect he will get the job and unless I missed something he should. Prez gets to pick people for the gigs and none of the stuff that I heard brought up is disqualifying. -

Lock up the booze! -
They will be looking at every option. A legit problem with California is it will take forever to do anything. Even in a perfectly functioning situation rebuilding 10k homes is insane. When trying to incorporate prevention and new concepts into the process. Eeesh. We’ll see what the insurance companies do after all this. The costs of insuring may take care of some of this.

Sure throw goats out there. How many acres can goats clear out?

If these fires began in large, somewhat remote canyons then 50 mph blow for a couple days spraying embers thousands of feet, well that seems a like situation that is going to be difficult. They will need to try something there as people appear to want to rebuild. Preferably the convo is a good one and not some bitchfest (yeah right), but like people who live in Florida where massive hurricanes roll through every few years, well good luck. When the blood sucking insurance companies are saying we can’t provide coverage in an area because it’s impossible to make any money here, bad sign.

https://www.latimes.com/environment/story/2025-01-13/could-brush-clearance-have-helped-slow-the-spread-of-the-palisades-fire Reddit has quite a few LA threads from the past getting bumped with locals discussing draconian policies implemented by the city about forced removal of brush and plants from their property

This is an example of why people cannot stand Trump. He’s a shitbird troll. Sadly it’s no surprise and to be expected.
