Trump talk only- no Eagles talk allowed (Steelers talk is OK though)

Who knows who lit these things on fire. Dumb to guess. Trying to apply logic to a person who does this is equally dumb. -

RNC wins at 5th circuit to block mail-in-votes that arrive after election day.

Ted Cruz losing would be oh so sweet. Won’t happen but maybe just maybe I think many Republicans would love to shitcan this guy, maybe the ex-NFL guy can make it happen! -

This is a small quibble in the overall system. I actually just busted out the ballot and have begun filling it out in past few minutes. They have added opt in texts to track my ballot, they have added a signature verification page along with a ton of other info. Happy to pay some tax dollars to make this happen. Should be nationwide. -

Let’s try this again. Someone explain why this shouldn’t be the way everyone in the US votes. Register for a mail in ballot (we can bicker about what this process is but for the sake of forwarding the discussion let’s just say it is whatever your state currently requires to vote in person), they mail you a ballot by 3 weeks before Election Day, you also receive a voting packet explaining the various initiatives, candidates, etc., you fill out at your discretion, you sign and tear off a tracking code unique to your ballot, you return by an agreed upon date that is clearly marked on the ballot (we can just agree this is by Election Day), you can double check your ballot was received a few days later. Why wouldn’t people want this system? -

Twitter videos would allow you to see people waiting in line needlessly. You could also watch the news. Or you could stay stupid. Mail-in is much better. That all the states haven’t figured this out yet is insane. Or they want to keep voting down. Who knows? -

Twitter will be filled with vids I’m sure. Anyways why do this? Mail is infinitely better. -

There are ballot boxes as well. In any case that is what the tracking code is for. I have voted by mail for years and the ballot has never been lost. Had my signature challenged once IIRC. When I see these vids of people standing in the rain forever to vote I just don’t get it. I kind of assume this is on purpose to make people not vote TBH. -

No way. Register to receive a ballot. They mail it to you a couple weeks before. You fill it out sign it and tear off a tracking code. You drop it in ballot box or mail. You double check it was received a couple days later with tracking code. This is how all states should do this. If people want to go to the community center and wait an hour knock yourself out. -

Because that is what happened. Why do you think she and others quit? If you want random bulllshit off a Google search here’s the first thing that comes up regarding this: https://www.quora.com/Whats-the-difference-between-an-editorial-column-and-an-article -

You posted a blurb you found on the internet from some random site. This lady quit because up til this point the place she worked at provided opinion on who the Editorial staff (run independently from the News department at the paper) would endorse for Prez. The were instructed to change that for this election and she didn’t care to be a part of it. -

Editorial sections of the paper give opinions of the editorial team. They are just that, opinions. The News department offers the news. This woman was going to write their staff’s endorsement of Kamala (shocker!) and the owner told them not to. She says eat a d|ck new owner guy and quits. Team Trump jumps on the non-endorsement as proof that even pinko, commie leftists won’t endorse Kamala. This is disingenuous, a lie really, and exhibit A of why she quit - she doesn’t want to be associated with this especially not when it is used in a lie. The dude owns the paper and he can do what he wants, the lady doesn’t want to work there because of it. This is all fine. It’s not some example of the media is broken or whatever point was being made in that regard was what I have been responding to. -

This guy seems reasonable. https://www.politico.com/news/2024/10/25/trump-freedom-caucus-north-carolina-electors-00185520 “The chair of the conservative House Freedom Caucus says the North Carolina Legislature should consider allocating the state’s presidential electors to Donald Trump even before votes are counted in the swing state Rep. Andy Harris (R-Md.) said Thursday that such a step by North Carolina’s Republican-controlled Legislature “makes a lot of sense” given the devastation wrought by Hurricane Helene in the western part of the state. Counties in that region are expected to vote heavily for Trump”
