Well it wasn’t what Trump said it’s what JD said - he’s bullshitting on both counts. Both he and Trump have changed their tunes on abortion. It’s fine, it’s fairly typical. Trump saving the ACA is pretty laughable. For the border crossing issue those are the numbers. As with any set of data there is ways to tell your story. Walz wasn’t lying was my point.

US Border Patrol agents apprehended around 57,000 migrants along the border in July - the lowest recorded since September 2020.

Got to disagree. This was a good debate. Got to see both people talk, they sounded like normal reasonable people.

“Common sense” solutions are typically tossed out there by people who don’t do the thing that is causing issues. Once people start implementing things, get into the weeds, it gets difficult. Common sense guy has moved onto the next thing they think they are experts on.

That is a very generic cliche that doesn’t really mean anything. Been said a million times by a million people. As genetic as saying “I want to talk about the future” when questioned about something you are embarrassed about or can’t answer.

What started this side convo was a poster saying (paraphrasing) other mechanisms than voting in person is a bad process. The option to have mail-in voting is infinitely better than having only in person. If you want to go vote at some church on Tuesday be my guest, but mail-in is much better for a variety of reasons.

Post debate polls are showing that both VP candidates improved their “unfavorable” rating and both were viewed as reasonable. Trump still ducking another debate so this was it.

A reasonable take on the debate. I agree both sides will think they won - both had their moments. A good debate. I’ll add we can’t get this with Trump and it’s not because moderators are unfair.

I agree that was a good moment for Walz. Disagree that it was a win either way. Was a good debate so that was nice but will be viewed as a win for whichever side you are on. We’ll see.
