This is fair. Just acknowledge this is on both sides. These quotes are everywhere. I don’t want to inject Trump specifically into this but he is as responsible for crazy rhetoric as much as the next guy. This is an opportunity to reset a bit. From a purely politics angle if Trump can message this he wins in a landslide IMO.

Why amplify this person? Ignore them or have a real discussion about what should be done with social media.

I got to say his reaction was so many things. It was hardcore badass. The images with the flag in the background legit look like AI generated. Incredible pic. It was also odd that he immediately is telling people to fight like we are in a war or something. I don’t take anything from this and most importantly he turned his head at the perfect moment to not have this be mind bogglingly awful. I think he was already going to win, unless something completely out of the ordinary occurs it is now a lock. It goes without saying after this anything can occur.

He didn’t want people seeing his lifts in there. But seriously he was probably in shock. That the dude started pumping his fist in one of the most surreal things I have seen.

I am genuinely curious as to why people would now think this this morning. The difference between this place and rando person on Twitter is I at least know these personas of posters, so would like to hear why they come to make statements like this.

Both of those people are well versed enough in media to know better. Terrible use of language. There are probably examples of this across the spectrum. We had the Congresswoman from AZ shot in the head a few years back by a nut while giving a speech. The language probably chilled for about two weeks. Hopefully this time is different (it won’t be).

I don’t know. I heavily lean towards this is BS tinhat stuff. I would guess it’s standard to lock accounts when something like this occurs if that even happened.

The first paragraph makes total sense (was unaware of the request part). I don’t think SS has officially commented yet on the entire situation. They def were not represented in the press conference last night. There report will be it goes without saying highly scrutinized. If someone is crawling on a building and you cannot confirm he has a gun I don’t think they will just shoot them, right? That he got on the building is the problem.

Because mistakes are made and we live in a free society. I don’t know if his social media has been scrubbed, you just read it on some post. We have one interview with one guy saying he saw this guy a few minutes before. We have random videos, people speculating off of that. We don’t know anything really. Last night they thought the shooter was killed in the crowd. Remember? Just calm down and let it get put together. Twitter is not going to figure this out without making all kinds of wrong and frankly crazy speculation. Sometimes on purpose. That’s fine, Twitter and the like is a great source of raw info, but you have to keep it in perspective.

I am unaware of the call outs for Trump to be assassinated. If we are talking about Twitter people I’m sure that has happened as it has all across the spectrum. To the rest of this I’ll wait and see but initially I would say it is a crazy person with a rifle. I would say you need to not read everything on Twitter as fact. This is why real journalists are often late on news because they are filtering through all the things you are also reading and discarding the BS, verifying what is true, etc.

I could see it being pretty spot on from his perspective. His time call outs might be off. But this dude looks a little wild, been drinking beers all day starts telling cops he sees something. It isn’t really clear to them what he is saying and they dismiss it initially. Then start scrambling to figure it out.
