Our economy has performed well coming out of pandemic. We have strengthened NATO and our relationship with allies in Europe and with Japan and South Korea in the Pacific. Strengthened workers rights and am pro-union. Loosened marijuana restrictions for all you pot heads. The other guy wants to take away ACA and replace with something he can’t explain or is a “secret plan”. The other guy boasts about taking away health choices from your daughters. The other guy refuses to admit he lost the last election, in a landslide using his terms, but lives in a bizzaro world of his own making where he actually won. It’s chaos and grievances every day. Now I’m not sure Biden can spit all this out. Trump for his part is a sloppy mess as well. Not expecting much out of these but they are good TV for political nerds.

I think I am doing this. I rebalance into safer options periodically. Perhaps not as systematically as you describe. I’m probably buying and selling in stocks of companies I have followed forever more than I should be but I do like the gambling component. The wife just puts money into funds every pay period and they have some option that she pays a bit of a premium and they do all the rebalancing by age and some other factors. I beat her some years and some years I don’t.
