For this ghostwriter issue you are steering this towards Hur did say the guy deleted stuff after this became public. He also said the guy gave explanations for why he did that and additionally gave notes and the hard drive from the computer that was used for the recordings. Hur did not recommend charging the guy. Again, the bar for people is so low when you have good lawyers. Trump is a total dumbass who made it easy. He’s sloppy. The case will not come to trial before the election it looks like so he’ll perhaps slide but he’s busted here.

As I recall, for Biden and his ghostwriter Hur determined neither should be charged because it was not something that he deemed where intent could be provable - like the Trump case. The stuff about Biden being a nice old man who can’t remember things Hur determined would be additional factors as to why he would not be found guilty by a jury when he was no longer Prez.

Glossing over this quite a bit. This is relevant to this why was Trump charged and Biden was not convo. Hur laid out material and clear distinctions between the Trump and Biden cases. Trump was given multiple chances to return classified docs and avoid prosecution. He passed. He did the opposite, he obstructed justice by working with subordinates to destroy evidence and then lie about it. This is why Trump was charged.

What you were saying made sense but I guess they just say get him up there’s no more he can do down there. I feel the hype is a bit much, would have been the case whenever he came up I suppose, so will be hard to meet the expectations.

My take on this is they give these people great leeway when it comes to these docs. The bar to get in trouble is incredibly low - like don’t try and hide them from us, don’t get caught lying about it, don’t give us proof that you know you have them after we ask. Trump didn’t meet that bar because he’s a super genius. If he gave them back this wouldn’t have happened.

Trump was not supposed to have these docs either. That is the issue with him versus Biden - Trump was willfully retaining them, I believe is the term used. Trump returned some docs. But they knew he had more and he was asked to comply. He then among other things asked people to move them around, he showed them to people, etc. That is why his place was eventually raided, they found them and why he was eventually charged. Biden had these and then returned them. He allowed the Feds to investigate his place, basically what everyone does, except Trump who thinks he’s special and a victim all the time.

They did not bring charges against Biden while they did against Trump because of the coverup, for lack of a better word, by Trump. That is why Trump was charged. Hur pointed this out. Hur very nicely added that he didn’t think Biden would be good candidate to be prosecuted after he left the WH because he could be found to be a nice forgetful old man.

If what you are saying is accurate, who knows, then this is all great for his appeal. Your opinions of the judge and what he may be thinking are just that.

Well the jury will determine from what they hear and how the evidence is presented. If the case is made that this was election interference then so be it. He can appeal it or it can get overturned or whatever. IMO he determined this case to be one that he would be fine with going to trial prior to the election because he gets to pitch a fit and cry about being persecuted.

Did they work in conjunction with a tabloid to kill the story and did they hide the payments? That is the issue here the NY people are claiming. John Edwards for instance was done in by the story about his affair, think it was even the Enquirer. Trump told people he didn’t know anything about the payments, the story was fake news was the line prior to the election while he was actually paying off people.

Trump has delayed everything about this case. The entire reason it is happening is because he delayed giving them the docs they asked for and then when he did return some he didn’t return them all so they had to go through all these mechanisms of retrieving them. Take his balls off your chin for just a few minutes

That’s what the trial is determining I guess. It seems pretty obvious he paid her off with some dubious accounting methods and worked with a media outlet to hide the story. The legal argument about election interference is pretty dense. He obviously did that because he knew it would be damaging to his election chances. The other trials, the docs case where he’s busted and the Jan 6th / interference cases, are more egregious I would agree. But looks like we won’t get to see those it seems.
