Look. It is completely reasonable to understand that COVID caused issues like unemployment, government spending to explode. It’s not an excuse it’s reality. I don’t for instance blame Trump that unemployment blew up while he was president and people then say his presidency lost jobs. It’s factually accurate but it doesn’t have context. I was pointing out your chart of inflation wasn’t a very realistic way of showing “look inflation was so low and then suddenly it was high”.

You think Putin wanted NATO getting bigger? Thats interesting. Who knows if there will be a ceasefire or end to the war. My point is that Putin certainly hasn’t won. Not been a total loss either.

His stated goals were to stop NATO expansion. That has obviously failed. NATO added countries. It seems very unlikely he wanted to get into a war that killed so many of his men and drag out over years.

His goal was to take the country over and then restore the Eastern block, not get all his men blown up and NATO expanded at the same time. I wouldn’t say Russia totally lost flat out but they certainly didn’t win either.

You are saying Putin won’t take any deal that doesn’t involve Russia taking Ukraine because this is what will happen? I’m not tracking here.

I believe his goal was to be in Kiev in a few weeks, Russia lost hundreds of thousands of men, and NATO expanded so I wouldn’t say he has won. I doubt he counted on the US crossing his redlines over and over again. He also will end up with some land in Ukraine I’d bet so it’s not an absolute loss either.
