Given the recent polls showing Trump losing support I will be surprised if these ratings don’t go up fairly soon.

I’m never around at that time of day to watch Joy Reid. I enjoyed her commentary as part of the group on special events. I really like Steele and Sanders though. Both are smart people. Steele in particular has centrist views on most issues that I identify with.

He can offer this defense. I don’t find it compelling and I don’t think a jury will either. But we will see, hopefully.

For the Georgia crime: it was always the Georgia crime. He’s on tape asking for 12,000 votes. That’s a crime; he’s guilty as sin. They should have indicted him a month later but the indictment stands. As soon as he leaves office he should stand trial for it. Hopefully he will.

He will also be in prison (with any luck.)

It’s not instead of. It’s along with. Both are very important goals and supported by the taxpayers of this state.

It’s fun to discuss (or scary to discuss, depending on who you are) but let’s have a reality check here: changing the Constitution these days is almost an impossible task.

The mainstream media says you’re being lied to about this. I get that you don’t trust the MSM but it should bother you that every time Musk gets challenged about a false claim he says “oops we got that one wrong.” And this has happened several times now. So the narrative, that you have fully bought into, that they are uncovering massive waste and saving money for the taxpayer is just not holding up under scrutiny.

I always thought she was too leftist for me. I still don’t agree with many of her ideas. But at this time in our history when we desperately need someone to stand up for immigrants she has taken the lead. She’s becoming a heroine to me.

If you believe this, then how can you justify Trump’s new proposal to send American engineers over there to extract the minerals?

It’s both. He’s doing bad things but he’s doing them badly. (FTR, Trump is not close to the most racist President in history. Post Civil War-slaveowners don’t count- that would have to be Woodrow Wilson. Trump IS racist but nowhere near that racist. As for most unfit, I would say yeah a good case can be made for Trump.)

Because we want the mail to be guaranteed. It’s a basic government service like police or fire department. On the other hand in this world of emails and other messaging perhaps it’s no longer necessary to have it under government control. That’s why I said I’m not sure. There are those who are suspicious of how this would affect elections but I’m not concerned about that aspect too much.

The public is really starting to get pissed off about what Musk is doing and they’re letting Republican leaders know it.

But you guys aren’t responding to my point. Here is what Richard Grenell, Trump’s point man, said yesterday: I can’t think of a better security assurance than private equity forces on the ground, American businessmen on the ground…we will have a bunch of Americans in Ukraine… I think he’s right about this and if I were Zelensky I would agree to this deal based on this point alone. What I’m NOT sure about is that it’s good for the U.S. in exchange for these minerals we are basically guaranteeing Ukraine just as we would under NATO. And isn’t Russia going to be threatened by this? It’s not like we haven’t tried this before. In the 1960s we made a deal with the shah of Iran in which we would extricate their oil (they didn’t know how to do it themselves) in exchange for a percentage of it (I don’t think it was 50% but close). Thousands of Americans went to work and live in Iran and we set up everything for them. That story didn’t end well.

All right I’ve tried twice now to clarify what I meant. That’s all I can do. If you want to think ill of me I guess I can’t help that. It is funny to me that I seem to have made more enemies in the forum on this issue (trans) than any other, because in truth I don’t care much about it. It’s mildly interesting to me but it’s certainly not a core conviction of mine nor is it IMO an issue that is of vital concern to the USA. If it turns out that you are correct that it’s a mental disease and all of the world’s health experts change their position it wouldn’t change my life in the slightest.
