And the MAGA folks have no problem putting that imagination hat on if the killer is white. They can find 1,000 excuses when that is the case.

Just stupid head in the sand argument. Unfortunately most MAGA folks think this way.

Because you see it as an absolute rule. It isn’t. Of course forgiving all debt makes no sense. I’m not for that. I’m for forgiving it in this instance. Using your logic if someone suggested cutting taxes then you would counter with why not cut ALL taxes down to zero? Thats just silly. Sometimes it makes sense to cut taxes, sometimes it makes sense to forgive debt. There’s no general rule and no fairness. It just depends on the situation.

Me: I can’t argue fairness. Of course forgiving these loans isn’t fair. But it makes good business sense. You guys: But it’s NOT FAIR!!

This is the problem: you’re looking at it emotionally. So do most people. I strongly believe that forgiving almost all student loans would be the best possible investment we could make into our economy: far far more productive than the tax cuts Trump is trying to push through. It would stimulate the housing industry which is the key to everything else. But this is an argument based on reason and business- it’s got nothing to do with fairness and what people deserve. I can’t argue with those emotional topics.

Some of you trying to lecture me about business is both amazing and amusing to me.

I forgive leases all the time. During Covid I lost an entire year of rent. Some other landlords I know refused to renegotiate terms and the result of that is that now they have vacancies and I do not. These things depend on circumstances, there are no set rules except try to look at the big picture.

Yes he was absolutely treated as white by those who defended him. Were you one of them?

My point is he got off, and was defended by conservatives, because he was white. Same with Rittenhouse, same with the policeman who shot Michael Brown, same with several other cases I could name. This kid will not receive that same treatment; he will not be regarded as a victim, because he is black.

The tariffs have hurt me. The other stuff is hurting incident people all the time. But it’s not accomplishing any of the things you think it is.

There should have been no spinning in the Zimmerman case either. Yet there was. And he was acquitted.

This is a generalized statement that sounds good on paper but I’m not at all sure it’s true in real life.

Of course, because the killer was black. I think this was murder too. I’m only pointing out that if the races were reversed many of you would be defending this dude, and you know it.

It doesn’t matter. Look at George Zimmerman- no video there. Look at Michael Brown- no video there. If Karmelo was a white kid, and the victim black, all the maga folks would be rushing to his side, arguing self-defense and calling him a hero. We know this is true because we have example after example of it being true.

He wants more white people. Like many of those who supports him, he feels threatened by black and brown skinned people becoming a majority.

As always you are so impressed by tough talk that never goes anywhere and never actually accomplishes anything.

First off I going to guess that, given the amount of people DOGE laid off that performed these functions for us in the past, these collections are going to be quite difficult and take a long time to accomplish. Second, people should ask themselves whether or not this sort of draconian collections, if actually carried out, will help or hurt our economy. I have a pretty strong feeling that it will be very very bad, given the fact that these same young people are the ones we are relying on to purchase new homes as well as other investments.

We don’t need more children. We need more immigrants.

It’s always easier to bully the little guy. None of this is surprising; we all knew the moment Trump was elected it would eventually lead to a total capitulation in this war. But even so it’s completely disgraceful, and it will be stain on our foreign policy and honor forever, just as Munich has been for England.

But there’s a difference this time around. This time it’s all due to the whimsical, awful decisions of one guy.

Problem is that there has already been plenty of damage done. Even if he reverses himself now (and hopefully he will) we’re looking at some rough times ahead. So unnecessary, so stupid.

The only reason the market went up today is because Trump’s main economic guy admitted that the tariffs on China were unsustainable so the hope is now that Trump will retreat from his terrible policies. Trump also admitted this evening that it was all a bluff, he has no intention of firing Jerome Powell, so I expect the market to rise tomorrow too. Are you noticing a pattern here? Every time Trump goes through with his plans the market crashes. Everytime he surrenders, the market goes back up. What does that tell you? Trump has been a complete disaster for our economy and it’s only been a few months. He was terrible last time but he’s been far far worse this time. And investors know it.

In economic terms compared to the USA? Yes. But even so it’s stupid for them to have tariffs.
